12 Principles for Raising a Child with ADHD

I can't express how much I love love love this book! The first half touches base on the science behind what's neurologically going on. Second half is ways to address the child with the explanation as to why you do it that way.I am the person who wants to know the "why" behind the behavior and this book does not disappoint.It has helped me to understand my 7 years old ADHDC (ADHD combined) son and how to address and prepare for situations with him. I took so many notes because this book is so informative!If your looking to understand your child/student and how to address situations without emotion, using logic, this book IS IT!My relationship with my son has always been good and open, but now it's taken to another level. Using the knowledge and tools from this book, my son feels more seen, heard and understood.

I really enjoyed this one! It's chock full of info but without being to dry and hard to read. The info is really helpful and I ended up highlighting a lot to try with my daughter. This is one I'll definitely being coming back to for reference and ideas!

This book has given me a better understanding of what I can do to understand my child’s adhd. I didn’t realize all the things she was struggling with as a result of adhd and not just personality/behaviors. It’s given me some good information on how I can better address concerns.

This helps to know more about ADHD and how to manage raising a child who has it. If your looking for helpful advice this is great!

Still reading more on it but a good read so far

This book is easy to read and addresses the challenges of raising a child with ADHD. It’s a good “how to” book for parents.

I read this book with a pen in hand and have permanently changed my parenting approach to my child based on the writings in this book. I cannot stress enough how much I was reading this book, nodding along or writing crib notes on how to revise my parenting approach. If you're looking to start, start here. This book has helped me tremendously thus far and I still have some to go! I could’ve written it word for word about our son. I’ve tweaked my parenting style and understand my son better after reading and he and I are in such a good place!
