Sony Xperia Z3+ 32GB GSM/LTE Unlocked Cell Phone - Black (U.S. Warranty)

Let me start by saying I have owned over one hundred cell phones,more than half have been smartphones .I just sold my Note5 which is a beast in all specs and easily one of the best smartphones ever made.That phone was too bulky for everyday use and I have large hands.I have had about 5 Sony Xperia phones before this one,they were all midrange.Something about Sony's design and aesthetics have always drawn me back to them,I had the Xperia M4 Aqua which felt super cheap and the screen resolution was ok.This Z3 plus is amazing in all aspects.The second I took it out of the box,I was reminded of the M4 Aqua in a visual sense.The Z3+ (mine is black)is a very Japanesque minimalist designed slab.Kudos in my book.Very slick glass back is slippery but so were my Note5 and S6 by Samsung.Why does anyone want a slippery phone??Has an oleophobic coating which I think Is great considering all other Sony phones(midrange) pick up smudges and are impossible to just wipe off first try. The one and only problem I find in this phone is the overheating,It's not uncomfortable to hold but dims the screen and supposedly shuts down camera app(has yet to happen to me).Speaking of the screen,It's super bright and has great contrast.Triluminous technology is awesome.The front firing speakers are not loud at all but I know exactly why,it's the waterproof membrane muffling high output.However,output through headphones and or aux. cord is amazing,Hi Res audio,EQ settings galore,sound effects......this it what I grew up on,Walkmans,CD Walkman from Sony.The phone is at a perfect width for one handed use.5.2 inch screen is just right.Screen to body ratio is decent.This phone is fast too,I've thrown a lot of multi tasking at it and it keeps up with it all,no lags in gaming or browsing.Call quality is just fantastic.There are call EQ settings,I have it set to Bright.The ear speaker during calls is so loud and clear It reminds me of Motorola phones or better.There is also a slow speech setting which slows down the incoming speech during call in real time(other Sonys have this feature too).I am totally recommending this phone.Camera is great but not up there with the flagship Samsung Galaxy line.Does the job though.I love my phone and it amazes me everyday.I get LTE with Tmobile and I am 99% sure it has the ATT LTE bands too.

Fast-No lagging when switching between apps.Battery life is good.Front and back cameras take very good pictures.Upgradeable to Android Marshmallow. (Now 7.1.1 Nougat)Display is gorgeous and brightness is fantastic.Water and dust proofSound is loud with headphones. Audio is disappointing without headphones.Still a great phone even in 2017.

This phone it's very nice looking and it's fast but it overheats a lot! I installed all the updates (14/05/2016) and it still overheating.Whats the point of having 4k recording or 1080p @ 60fps if you can't use it? I can't make this phone record more than 1 minute in any resolution!Besides that, i'm very dissapointed with Sony, the box doesn't bring headphones and nothing more than the user manual and charger. And that being said, I'm feeling very lucky because they still give you a charger........I just want you to know that if I knew this before, I would choose any other phone!

UPDATE: I've had the phone a little under two months. I have a case and screen protector on it. I squatted to pick up something i dropped, it fell out of my pocket. Fell about 2 feet onto the driveway. And shattered. Pic included. This is NOT a regular sony xperia. This is nothing more than a cheap replica. It overheats, all the time (No video longer than 5 mins or it shuts off from heat), it has s***ty 4g service (all other phones in the house, same carrier, have full service), and broke after falling 2 feet.I love the Sony Xperia series of phones. The price point is similar to older galaxies, with better specs. I use my phone for just about everything. Decent graphics. Good processing speed. Water proof up to 30 ft for 30 mins. The new z3+ has removed the port cover over the charging hole so the worn gasket is no longer an issue. Light weight. Perfect size for me excellent rf camera.The other xperias I had I got thru tmobile. Tmobile no longer carries them so I got a new one off Amazon (the old one took 10 too many falls and the auto rotate stopped working). We got an lg v10 since it was the only android even close to having a comprable camera without samsungs inflated pricingWhen it came time to buy me a separate phone I came to Amazon for a bew Xperia.This one has issues ive never had before: low network signal strength (usually one bar or less). Random shut offs. (I have to force a power cycle)Actually gets over heated.Not happy w the unlocked Sony.But mostly I dont talk jist text and Internet via WiFi so I still prefer this phone...but.

Got hot where I could not use any camera app. Besides that, It works great.I had to send it in to see if they can hopefully get the heat issue fixed.

This is a great phone, it is packed with all sorts of features. Looks and feels great in the hand, a little slippery. I love the minimalist, simple, elegant design. Nothing is overdone - just the right hint of everything. I really, really loved this phone. So, why the two star review? Simple, such a great and amazing phone - crippled by overheating. Yes, overheating. If you don't use the camera for video's, it will not overheat. If you use the camera for video's greater than two minutes outside on a warm day - it will overheat and shut the camera down. Yup, it does'nt care if you are shooting a clip of your kid playing in the park, or your dog catching a frisbee - it's overheated and needs to shut down and it will!. It does this for full HD or 4K videos.This phone had so much potential. :-( Unfortunately, it overheats and you can not use it!Sony tried to release an update, which I did have applied, still to no avail.If you do not shoot video clips, this phone is amazing, you should get it. If you do shoot video clips >1-2:00 minutes; this may not work for you.
