We just bought our third Water Rover in 12 years, and only one of the two older bottles is actually not usable anymore. The oldest bottle, which still works, is red. We just replaced the blue bottle because our first blue one developed a crack in its bowl (after repeated drops over a six-year period! Kirby's dad carries it by hand; I carry the red bottle in a sling, so less accidental drops!) We take these everywhere - on walks, on vacation, in the car, on visits. These bottles are very sturdy and practical. The best thing is that there's no trick to getting the water quickly into the bowl, just pull the plastic snap-cap off and the water flows in. The bowl is large enough for even the longest snouts and widest mouths to drink from comfortably, and any leftover water easily and quickly flows back into the bottle. Snap the cap back on, and no water is wasted or lost. The key words for us are "quick" and "easy". We've tried other water bottles that required pressure to release the water (too slow! Kirby would lose interest and find someone else's water to drink!) or had bowls that were too small or narrow, with no way to return remaining water back to the bottle without a steady hand and a funnel. You can even fill this bottle without removing the bowl, just take the snap-cap off and fill it using the bowl. Super handy for filling when the bottle won't fit vertically under the faucet, such as at a shallow sink or a water fountain spout.Our only complaint is that the snap-off cap never seems to last as long as the rest of the product. It has broken off of all of ours (and several of our friends') bottles after anywhere from 2 to 5 years. BUT, I have found a great replacement, and it works better than the snap-cap, which can get difficult to use if you don't have the hand strength for grasping and pulling. It's the "Rabbit Wine Bottle Stopper" by Metrokane. They come in assorted colors in 2-packs, and they fit perfectly. I've seen them at supermarkets, kitchen gadget stores, and of course Amazon has them too. So there is no need to buy a whole new bottle if it's just your cap that's broken. I love being able to extend the life of these useful and practical water bottles. 13 years coming up for the red one and still my favorite! (Note that the Dark Blue 5-1/4" Bowl & 26oz Bottle is not the item pictured in this photo. This looks like the LIGHT Blue, 4" Bowl, 15oz. bottle, which is cylindrical. The 26oz bottle is cone-shaped, wider at the bottom than at the neck.)

I was skeptical about this product, thinking the clip that slides onto my belt would be too flimsy and easily break, and that the bottle & bowl together would be too awkward to wear while walking. Both concerns are not an issue (I just bought a larger version for longer walks). This frees up one hand while walking, with a leash in the other hand. I also carry a stun baton when walking because of issues with aggressive stray dogs in the area. The product works well for my dog, so all in all a good purchase.

This water bottle is a good size, but we can fit it in smaller areas when we are traveling in the car. We know we always have clean water for him and a bowl for him to drink from. The plastic is sturdy and lasts. The weak spot on this bottle is where the stopper attaches to the bowl. After a while it begins to detach, but still works as a stopper, you just have to be careful not to lose it. This is our second bottle (we lost the first one), so I don't hesitate recommending this product.

I’ve bought these Water Rovers for years and while far from perfect, they are the best traveling water bottle for dogs in my opinion. The main issues is they leak so we always have to put a rubber gasket around the lid and the plastic strap that opens and closes the water plug always breaks but usually within 6 months of every day usage.However, with this bottle, I felt the strap and bowl area felt cheaper than usual upon arrival. I already had a bottle for a couple years with the strap broken so I bought a new one (this one here). We finally got a chance to use it and the strap broke within literally two uses. Not 2 days worth of use but opening and closing only twice. We are very gentle when we use these knowing about the strap but this was ridiculous.I tried to contact the seller since it is way passed the return date but I was hoping they might send another due to it only being the second use and we are regular customers and recommend these bottles to everyone and have given them as gifts even at the dog park, but the Amazon Assistant wouldn’t let me contact the seller.I know a lot of companies ruin products by making them with cheaper and cheaper materials but this is one item that could not take any cheaper made materials due to how delicate and susceptible to breakage it already was.I want to order another but want ensured that it won’t break again so quickly and would appreciate a free one sent due to our customer loyalty and the fact it broke so fast.

I love the size of the bottle. The reason I am giving it only 3 stars is because the cap that plugs the water from going into the bowl broke the first day. We have the 12 oz one that we've used for years and the cap is still attached and not cracked. So it's a bummer that within the first week the new bigger one is broken. Thinner plastic from the older one

The water Rover is the best invention since sliced bread. My dog loves his water dish and will not drink out of anything else when not at home. The water rover DOES NOT Leak, drip or spill, it is so convenient . The first one I had I forgot it in a restaurant we had stopped at hour and half away from where we live. My dog would not drink out of anything other then his water rover dish. I found the website and ordered six water rovers. The service was absolutely fantastic, they arrived within four days of ordering them. In the mean time I phoned the restaurant where I had left the dish and they still had it. It drove back there and picked up his water rover water dish, HONESTLY he was so excited when he saw his water dish his whole little body trembled and of course his tailed wagged like a windshield wiper on high. Goes to show dogs are very smart and know what is there's. I have given two of the water rover dishes to friends that have a dog and yes their dogs love their water rover dish.
