Le Creuset Silicone Prep Bowls, Set of 4 - 1/4c, 1/3c, 1/2c & 1 cup, Cerise

I don’t use these as measuring cups. Given how soft and flexible they are, I’m not sure how accurate they would be. What I bought them for, and use them for almost daily, is prepping for dinner. Whether I’m making a spice mix, prepping a complicated recipe, or just need somewhere to hold my slivered chives, these work perfectly and are super easy to clean!

I cook a lot and like to prep everything before I start cooking. I have 10 of these, and they are perfect for getting spices, etc. measured and ready. Each cup has lines inside showing different measurements.

Mine are used every day, replacing my hard measuring cups for most uses. They are relatively thick silicone but still quite flexible, so it's easy to scrape or pour food out of them, they stack in little space, are easy to clean, and are very lightweight. I monitor portion sizes and use them to measure any food that fits in a round container, such as corn, beans, peas, coleslaw, potato salad, etc. Besides being useful as prep bowls, they are great for dips as they are easy to scrape with a chip or cracker. I also use the larger ones to defrost frozen berries in the microwave to pour over ice cream or yogurt. When taking my several vitamin pills out of their bottles each day, I drop them in one of these and the pills don't bounce off and fall on the floor where it's hard to find them. Very practical.

These babies are too cute and I believe will be very helpful when baking to have the ingredients pre-measured so you can just add them when needed -- will prevent over mixing which is critical when baking. I do, however, have a problem with the cost of these items. They are very tiny and obviously, you are paying for the name brand. I'm ok with that when it is the cookware that undergoes special processes and has a lifetime guarantee. But, these are just tiny silicon bowls anyone could make - that should be taken into account by the company and loyal customers should be rewarded for their loyalty with a break on the price of this time of item.

These bowls are made of silicone, so they are safe to wash on the top rack of the dishwasher and more importantly they are flexible. You can use them to pinch your ingredient into the bowl from a pile, or from a canister. Powdered ingredients sometimes stick to the bowls, especially sugar. The little bowls also make nice condiment and sauce bowls for meals. If you have the Cobalt Blue La Creuset cookware, these bowls could make a lovely addition to your arsenal. I prefer them over metal measuring cups, which I find to be cumbersome and highly annoying.

These are measuring cup sized prep/pinch bowls. These are not mixing bowls. Most of the low reviews are from customers who did not understand what they were ordering. This is the second time I have purchased these-- I love them! It is so useful to have easy-to-access bowls that are sized exactly for food measurements. They are clearly marked as 1 Cup, 1/2 Cup, etc. They are made of high quality silicone making them easy to clean and safe for use with a variety of foods. These are so great for storing and measuring ingredients when preparing to cook. Such a simple tool that made my cooking so much easier! Highly recommend.

If you measure out 1 cup of milk and pour it into the 1 cup prep bowl the milk comes to exactly the lip of the bowl. If you don’t have the steady hands of a neurosurgeon there’s going to be spillage. It would have been better if each cup was a little bigger - perhaps with a fill line. You’d think that a company with as much experience as Le Creuset would have thought of that.
