Whimsical open-ended toy
A great toy for older babies and young toddlers! This got a lot of use for us. Our baby loved pulling the birds in and out. As a toddler she still reaches for this toy sometimes. The colors are cheery and whimsical, definitely not an obnoxious-looking toy. It’s very cute! It’s an open-ended toy which we love because our baby played with it in so many different ways.

Couldn't be any cuter
Who doesn't love a birdhouse full of colorful, happy cheepers? This is a delightful little toy. The birdhouse has two sides that are clear so you can see inside. The side with the flip-down door has an opening that is just the right size for chubby toddler fists to retrieve the birdies or stuff them inside. The door is stiff and closes with a velcro tab at the top so the birds don't accidentally fall out. The roof also opens and secures with velcro on one side. The opposite side of the roof has a reinforced hole that is just the right size for the birds to sit in while waiting to be stuffed inside or pulled out. The details on the house and birds are precious. Each bird is different in size, posture, and coloring -- something that was not obvious from the pictures, but definitely adds to its charm. The toy is well-made. The eyes of the birds are stitched on and cannot be pulled off. It has an interesting range of textures on each bird, some silky, some nubby, and the legs on 2 of them are made of silky cords that have knots at the ends for feet. Our one-year old granddaughter loves loves LOVES this toy. She hauls it around by the (convenient!) plastic handle, and feeds the birds cheerios thru the open top. It's toys like this that make me a happy granny. Did I mention that it doesn't need batteries or make any noise? If you want the birds to cheep, you have to do it yourself. Only thing I don't like: it's made in China. Why oh why can't we manufacture cute toys domestically? I would (and do) gladly pay more $$ for USA-made stuff. Sorry for editorial comment, but this just gets under my skin...

Fun, stimulating toy
I bought this birdhouse for my seven-month-old daughter and she loves this toy! Since she's teething, she mostly loves to chew on the birds, as they are soft and colorful. Each of the four birds have different shapes, colors and textures and make a soft rattle sound. They are the perfect size for her to grasp in one hand. Some of them have little rope-like legs with a knot on the end, which she loves to put in her mouth. The birdhouse is stimulating and very colorful to look at, as well. She can glimpse in the clear part and see the birds inside. I like the fact that as she grows, she'll be able to put the birds in the hole in the roof or through the movable front door. It's nice it has a little carrying handle, which is textured - and she loves to chew on that, too. I'm very pleased with the purchase and hopefully this will be a toy she will play with for a long time!

Reaches large age range
In preparation for a three-hour plane ride (sandwiched between two-and-a-half hour drives to and from each airport), I bought this toy for my almost 10-month-old son. He loves pulling the birds out when I lift the roof up. He loves teething on the little birds. They are the perfect size for his chubby little hands and slobbery little face. In the end, the tray on the seat back in front of us was equally (if not more) entertaining. Go figure.Fun: Overall, I'd say he likes it, but it's not a favorite toy. He doesn't get excited when I pull it out for play.Educational Value: Amazing! Such a great toy to "explore" with. I put rattles and other things in the house with the birds and make him really dig around for his favorite thing. It's adorable to watch. I can really see his brain working while we play.Durability: The toy held up well in my duffel bag while we traveled. The birds will be easy to wash, but their wings lay pretty flat.I'm satisfied with my purchase, but not as thrilled about it as I had hoped. Maybe my son will enjoy it more as he gets older. I noticed it was a hit with several cousins (ages 2 to 4). The range of ages it appeals to helps make it a solid four star product.

3 year old likes it well
My daughter asked for a birdhouse for Christmas. She looked at this and thought it was a tent because I think she was imagining a typical wooden birdhouse. But she played with this anyway and she plays pretend with these birds a fair bit. The birds' faces are so fun and cartoonish, my daughter really likes them. The house and birds are all as pictured and very cute and durable. This won't wear out anytime soon.

Excellent gift for 9 months-1.5 years
I've given several of these to family babies. All reports are positive. They love putting the birds in, carrying them around and taking them out.
