This vacuum sealer is a very good machine. The suction power works really well, and the bag seals nicely without any leaks. It comes with multiple features like gentle or normal vacuum seal as well as moist or dry for food type. It has a built in cutter that is very convenient but needs to be stronger. The red tabs help ensure the bag is in proper place for sealing. It also has an accessory port for use with vacuum canisters. The canisters are sold separately. It’s lightweight and pretty compact, I wish it had a built in cord storage on the back but it doesn’t.Overall, this product is great, and I would recommend it based on its price point. We purchased the Geryon to replace a 20 year old one it is a lot quieter and has more suction power compared to the one we had.

I do a lot of research before buying items like this, but you never truly know if you made the right choice until you actually use the product. I'll go into detail on all the features to give the most beneficial and fair review that I can.VACUUM: I was replacing a machine that was a 60kPa unit. With kPa the higher the number, the better the suction power. This one I was told is an 80kPa model. That should equate to 25% more vacuum power. Meh..maybe it is, it's better than the old machine and this is subjective so in fairness I'll give it 4 stars. I also couldn't tell much of a difference between dry and wet mode.SEALING: It does shine here with a solid, wide seal. 5 stars for sure.CLEANING: With my previous unit, the trough where excess liquids would go, popped out for an easy rinse off. This one does not, which is a feature I would like to have seen. The bottom does detach. Can't give it more than 3 stars here.ONBOARD CUTTER: This is a must, but the cutter on the Geryon is poor at best. Not very smooth and with minimum pressure while placing the bag , the unit starts vacuuming or sealing without the lid even being latched. 1 star is generous IMHO.OVERALL QUALITY: Seems decent. The gaskets are thick & look sturdy. I wish a replacement would have been included, but not a deal breaker. Latches & unlatches easily. 4 stars.MANUALS: Excellent here. Two included , both a user and troubleshooting manual. Well written. 5 stars.MISC: I emailed customer service to get the kPa number and they were quick to respond. They have a very professional looking website, geryonkitchen.com. There it states the item has a two year warranty. It appears that their only product is vacuum sealing machines and accessories . That was very influential in my decision to buy this brand with them being dedicated to one product. 5 stars for all that.So, I guess that averages out to a 3.85 star rating overall.It's really not a bad machine for the money, but so far I'm on the fence as to if I had it to do all over again I would buy this same unit. There are not enough negatives about it that I would want to return it to Amazon for exchange. I want to be fair about that in my review. IT WILL GET THE JOB DONE for sure, and there are far worse (and not like this one is really all that bad), more expensive machines out there . I hope this review is helpful in detailing all the aspects buyers might want to consider.
