so pretty
Yeah, like the other's who leaves a review for a toilet seat? It arrived quickly, in perfect shiny condition was quick and easy to put on. Though it is in the guest bathroom, it seems comfortable the couple of times I have used it. It is so pretty looking in my bathroom.. the wood is a lovely, nice grain and shiny. Worth the money.

Replaced Product is Perfect!
My initial order was scratched upon arrival due to Amazon's poor packaging protection, so I had to get a replacement. I was very pleased to see that Amazon payed attention to my comments, as the replacement was very well packed. The finish on this seat is absolutely gorgeous. Time will tell whether it's durable or not. I think it needs wiping more often because the high gloss finish does show marks, but a dry cloth seems to take care of the problem. The price was incredible. My last seat cost approximately $150, so this item at $45.04 is less than 1/3 of the cost. Well done Comfort Seats!

Nice looking but deceptive marketing
I have enjoyed using this toilet seat but I have run into an issue where the screws supplied are rusting out. They claim here on the listing that they use stainless steel hinge screws but they are not stainless steel at all. I now can't get these screws out since the screw heads are rusted out and my toilet seat is useless. In addition, the metal rod that keeps the hinges together broke a few months ago and I had to replace on my own using a wood dowel. That worked but I shouldn't have had to fix something that I pay this amount of money for. We didn't misuse this toilet seat at all. This was merely from using the toilet seat. This was supposed to be a quality product that I expected to use for years to come but it turns out to be a disposable toilet seat just like any others on the market. It does look pretty even if it doesn't last very long.

Just as nice as everyone said!! Shiny!!!
I was hesitant to pay 40.00 for a toilet seat, seriously. But we worked hard to get our home, and we thought we deserved to get some quality products beyond your basic 12.99. This one fits the bill up front and center. It is constructed very well, and the minute you open in in the Amazon box, you know you have a quality product. It even had a plumbers seal of approval on it, which means these are probably used in more mid level, slightly high end designing for a home. It is easy to put on, smooth to the touch, but like anything, takes a little work to get it on nice and tight. Also it is very easy to clean, which is a plus. Getting something this pricey will also motivate you to give your toilet bowl a good scrubbing if you had not been motivated to do so before, as you do not want to put a seat this nice and something filthy.A solid, high quality product, highly recommended!!

Almost beautiful finish
Nicely finished with a couple of minor blemishes that are only noticeable when looking hard for imperfections. The brass rod on the back had a slight dent but it can't be seen once the seat is installed. The holes in most toilets are much larger than the threaded rods on this seat and it is nearly impossible to tighten the bolts by hand with the plastic nuts provided, securely enough so the seat doesn't wiggle sideways. In addition to the plastic washers that were provided, I used a brass washer on the bottom side followed by a stainless steel nut which I tightened with a deep socket wrench, and then I placed the plastic nut on last to prevent the stainless steel nut from loosening. The seat now stays firm. Time will tell if the finish on this seat holds up well.I had been searching for a long time at every hardware store for exactly this size & color wood seat. No luck at Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware, Walmart, Costco. The reviews I read convinced me to buy online. Ordered on Thursday, received on Friday (Prime). Pleased so far.

Very Complimentary
Never thought I would leave a comment for a toilet seat, but this seat is absolutely beautiful, and added the finish touch to our remodeled bathroom. It matches the vanity, which is a bombay mahogany, dark with deep red overtones. It is darker than the picture shows. It would also go with a dark cherry. I have gotten the oak seats before, that show the wood sections pieced together, but this seat does not show the sections. It's shiny, but very classy. Almost too pretty to put bare bottoms on lol.It came super fast, four days with a holiday and weekend at that, and it was tripled packaged. When the lid is opened, there is a oval emblem with the word, 'Comfort' on it, which I think gives it class, and will remind me what brand this seat is if I replace others in the house.

Nice Wood Seat, Dodgy Hinge Hardware
I have just repaired this seat using this Amazon-sourced solid brass rod:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0040X3WOO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1The original rod that holds the hinges together is hollow with a wall thickness less than a 1/16" (see uploaded pic). Also, it does not fully seat into the outermost hinge elements. Over time (18 months), the rod ends deformed, and, as they barely seat into the ends of the hinge elements, they eventually came out of them. If they had just made the rod longer such that it would seat into the ends properly, then I would not have to have repaired it. They could have manufactured a lasting hinge with their hollow rod if they had just made it longer (6 3/4" instead of 6 1/4"). I uploaded a pic of the solid rod that I manufactured next to the stock one.Another bummer is the "stainless steel" screws that attach the hinge pieces to the lid. They are rusting on my seat and yet they are billed as "stainless".Oh well. With the solid brass rod of correct length it is now a lifetime product. The wood is nice though, hence it's not quite one star product.Good luck with yours!Marshall

Probably One Of The Best
I looked at a LOT of toilet seats before I purchased this one. As far as toilet seats go, this one is probably one of the best. It looks very nice and it appears to be well-made. I like the look, feel, and durability of the solid wood. The one that I received does NOT have the "tap-and-close" feature mentioned in the product description, but that does not bother me at all - one less thing to break.
