Clif Bar Shot Bloks, Margarita (3X Sodium) - 60g (18/Box)

The title applies to all the Shot Bloks flavors, but I like the Margarita flavor with extra salt most of all. On those hot days when the sweat is pouring out of you on hills, these seem to help me avoid leg cramps. You can feel a slow burst of energy come on a few minutes after you chew 2-3 squares, and it hangs on for a while. I chew one or two every 30-45 minutes and I can avoid running out of gas.These taste pretty good (I prefer the taste of the Clif Shot Bloks, Cran-Razz, Pack of 12and Clif Shot Bloks, Orange, Pack of 18, but these are good too, and cheaper.)No stomach upset or gurgling like gels give me, and they don't sit in my gut like heavier energy bars.Easy to carry, and simple and neat to use on the road: just slice the top off the tube, and squeeze from the bottom like a push pop.

I love these. They taste great and they give you a quick carb boost. I do a lot of mtn biking here in East TN, and for me these have become mandatory for any ride longer than an hour. There are 6 "bloks" in each individual package, and each blok is 8 grams of carbs. I'll pop one every 15 or 20 minutes to keep my energy level up and electrolyte levels high. I have a buddy that has diabetes, and these have come in handy on several occasions when he was low and needed a precise amount of quick delivery carbs. I have also tried the cola flavored ones that have caffeine, and they taste gross. These are premium.

These are, by far, my favorite type of workout fuel for marathons. All the flavors I've had taste great and they're surprisingly easy to consume on the run. Instead of needing to consume an entire 100 calorie gel at once, you can have a 33 calorie block every so often (I eat one every 5 minutes). This helps me maintain a higher level of glycogen that my body can actually utilize during a race and I don't have any stomach issues. Also, they're not messy in the slightest unlike gels. These are simply the best in my opinion.

I kickbox, and drink a sports drink prior to my workouts. Unfortunately, this meant having to take breaks to relieve myself often. I tried SHOT BLOKS with the sole purpose of reducing my "potty breaks." And it worked! I still drink plenty of water during my workouts, but these give me the electrolytes I need without filling me liquid.They taste like gummi chews, and all my friends like them as well. Be warned tho, the Black Cherry flavor does have a shot of caffeine. Those looking to avoid caffeine should go with the Lemon-Lime flavor.On a side note, these are also great hangover helper, too!

I choose the Margarita flavor because I like the fact that it has extra electrolytes from the sea salt. (And Real Salt is a very good brand, I use their sea salt!) I also didn't want any caffeine.You can definitely detect the hint of salt but they are still very palatable and taste decent. Excellent little snack for my 70+ mile bike rides, I usually eat about 2 packs. Very quality product.

I love Cliff Blocks and I love margaritas. But these things are gross! Was barely able to eat the first pack I tried; how am I going to finish the whole box? The idea is a good one; the execution is poor. Eat these and your taste buds will be "wasting away in Margaritaville."

I've been using these for a couple years now. Easy on the stomach and with the added salt, I've not had to use any salt tabs. Just blocks and sport drink.

Great snack for riding dirt bikes. Consistency is perfect. Throw them in your hydration pack and down a pack. Seem to help when you hit a wall of exertion - not sure how much of that is placebo effect. Delicious, but strawberry is better!
