Light is awesome
Cuts the nails. Light helps alot. Nails fall into the container and do not fly everywhere. Easy clean up.Good on cats and dogs, both. Ease to use.

Highly Recommended for pets that have white nails and for pet and humans nail clipping anxiety
This was awesome simply because of the light. If your dog has black nails this will just work as a pair of clippers the magnifying glass might help. The magnifying glass would have helped me if I couldn't see the nails. Using just the light. The magnifying glass also flips down and collects most of the nail clippings . My old lady dog fears nail clippings. The light shows the bloodline so well. The only drawback is if it's a dog with black nails. My girl has one black nail on each front paw. It was so not scary my big boy dog saw what I was doing and he came over and put his paw out because he wanted a manicure as well. He has white nails and he is more active about digging to keep them short. These didn't hurt him either. I have always had anxiety I would clip too far and cut into their bloodlines. Now, I don't have to worry because I can see it so well.****HIGHLY RECOMMENDED****Especially, if you or your pets have nail cutting anxiety and your pet has white nails or a majority white nails. Again, I could not see the bloodlines with black nails.

THESE CLIPPERS DON'T CUT IT!
The light only works sporadically but isnt all that helpful anyway because of the angle you have to be viewing at (rather than looking fr the top down, you have to finagle the nail into the clippers then eyeball the magnification through the side. Not easy with a squirmy dog. Worst of all, they do not cut well. At all. Extremely dull blade, again, making it really difficult to use on a dog who isnt willing to sit there and have you take 2-3 attempts tobgwt the nail cut (also because the blade is so dull it doesnt cut cleanly and the nail is left pretty ragged. Did I mention the clippers also feel pretty flimsy? These are useless. I suppose you get what you pay for, so I am going back to order some better quality clippers..

Quite nail Clipper
Works great for small dogs but afraid it would break on my husky nails so don't recommend for bigger dogs

Cheap model but functioned OK
I have 2 large sighthounds with black nails and very overgrown quicks. You can’t see through the nail as advertised but it definitely helps see what you’re doing. It was very quiet and both dogs tolerated it fine. One fell asleep.I like the action of this model instead of a scissor type. I used it to cut off the longest part of the nail tip then kind of shave off bits at a time until I could see the quick. Overall it worked well but I don’t expect it to hold up long. The magnification part didn’t work for me because it limited the angle needed to cut the nail. I left the cover on at first and it did catch some of the clippings, but by foot #3, I found it easier to leave it down to really see how much nail was prepped for the blade.I will use until they stop working then by this style in a professional model.

Feels like it’s gonna break.
I have 2 Rottweilers that have thick black nails. I bought this “cheap” version ($9.99 at the time of purchase) mainly because I wanted to try out the light feature. RESULTS: 1. The light doesn’t work on black nails. It’s nice to have the extra light in general but it doesn’t show you the vein like the ad/pic shows.2. The magnifier part of cap thingy doesn’t really work either. It’s just too awkward and the angel isn’t right to actually be able to see better.3. And, the nail catcher part of the cap only works about 5% of the time. Meaning, it doesn’t catch the bits of nails you’ve trimmed. This is probably due to the angel at which you have to hold the tool to clip. They just fall out.4. And finally, it just feels like it’s gonna break with every nail I clip.SO, my research project tells me I’m not thrilled with the “features” enough to invest in the higher-priced version of this tool which is $19.99 right now on Amazon. The only problem it might fix is #4 - because I'm assuming that for the price, it’d be more sturdy. I’ll stick just to the simple version that JW makes which is like this one without said pointless “features”, and its 10x more sturdy - for the same price!! ($9.99)

My dog does not mind this clipper
I have a super reactive dog and clipping nails was an extraordinary problem, especially since her nails are black like the rest of her.I missed this on her two days ago and not only does the little light and the magnifier help me but the clipper does not make an enormous amount of noise and the nails don't fly across the floor which made my dog very calm while I was doing this.Which was totally amazing to me. Totally amazing to me!So I like this and I would recommend it.
