It is easy to detach to wash. One of my parrots is actually able to disconnect the bowl after a lot of persistence, but he is not the norm.

These are perfect sized for my hairless Guinea pigs. Great price and easy to install. Eliminated spill and wasted food. Definitely worth the price and sturdy.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Perfect for using with a dog crate/travel kennel when transporting our chickens from one place to another. Very easy to twist out to clean and add food or water. Very well made ,I have some that are over ten years old and are still in perfect condition. We have also used these in the past with our pet cockatiels. They attached well to the travel crate front wire door.

Great product heavy duty works very well

I owned one of these (a different brand) for I don't know how long... certainly 10 years minimum. I attach it to my dog's 30" wire crate. Recently, however, I accidentally dropped something heavy on it and broke it (the plastic clamp that the wing nut squeezes against, the weakest point in the system). I was bummed, and uber worried that I wouldn't be able to find a replacement after such a long time. This Lixit item solves the problem. It is exactly the same design and, as far as I can tell, the same quality as the bowl that lasted 10 years. As the title implies, I use it as a water bowl instead of a feeder. The dog loves it, too (he's drinking from it as I type). As an extra bonus, the Lixit is compatible with the old bowl, so now I have a spare bowl that can be locked into the new frame also; so I can stick one in the dishwasher and still use the other. I hesitate to call a product "the best", but if there's a better water dish for a wire crate, I'd love to see it. This bowl is sturdy, low-key, out of the dog's way, but he knows it's there when he needs it. My dog is terrier sized, by the way, so I purchased the 10oz bowl. 10 oz doesn't sound like much, but it lasts sufficiently long between refills. I'm working from home during the Chinese Flu, and my faithful companion is right by my side. I bring a liter-sized bottle of water in with me in the morning, and it's a very rare occasion if he ever even gets close to drinking the entire thing. This product is definitely a "thumbs up".

I had used these years ago for puppy cages, and really liked the ease of removing for cleaning and also the sturdiness of the bowls and the clamps. I recently purchased some metal bowls, and was extremely disappointed in the quality. I was not able to find these when I was searching for the dog bowls, but after receiving the metal ones I did some more searching and found them when I searched small animal bowls instead of dog bowls. I was thinking they didn’t make them anymore, but was pleasantly surprised when I found them. I highly recommend them for dogs and other animals. Don’t waste your money on the cheaply made metal ones because you will be disappointed as well..

I bought this only as an afterthought when I purchased a new water bottle for my Shih Tzu. He didn’t like the water bottle but he actually uses the bowl. He used to spill more than he drank and water would spread across the bottom of his cage. The bowl catches what he spills, and he laps water from the bowl.
