Michael's of Brooklyn Putanesca Sauce, 32 oz

Michaels is the only pre-made sauce I keep as a staple at home. Great quality, ingredients, and consistency. It is not watery and is thick enough to use without adding additional ingredients. The size is a good portion for a box of pasta, with a little extra.

Great sauce, i cooked it for an hour and a half cause otherwise I would have had any suggestion. But after cooking it and tasted, just like mine.

This is the best Pasta Sauce we have found anywhere. It tastes like it was homemade by your Italian grandmother. Flavor is bright and savory. Easily accepts additions — sautéed mushrooms, sliced black olives, etc. We seek out this brand no matter where we are. Good consistency — not runny or too thick. Wonderful flavor.

Very good taste. Overpriced in my opinion however. Will stick with my local Spinatos sauce.

I tried the Michael's of Brooklyn marinara sauce a few months back, as I was looking for something different from the normal brands stocked by the local grocery store. First impression was way too much garlic. Been there, done that, won't do that again.Tried a few other brands, some with basil, some really sweet, and some that had IMO no taste.Well, I gave the Michael's a second chance, and I'm glad I did. Still has a lot of garlic, but you can taste the olive oil and tomato. My tastes have changed, and now the Michael's is on the menu for dinner.

I cannot believe how glorious and fresh this sauce is. My mouth is watering as I write. We had this for the first time last night with some pappardelle and it was just....it evoked memories from childhood, getting to taste the sauce from the big wooden spoon. It is perfection. Oh - and it's the only tomato sauce that does not give me heartburn! And - it's available at Market Basket now, too - for half the price. It is the absolute freshest, most flavorful, thick but not too thick sauce.

Could not find Putanesca sauce at any of 3 local Big Chain grocery stores. I wanted it, so I ordered this. I added Hot Italian sausage and the result was delicious. But this is a Putanesca! There was not a single whole or crushed olive visible in the jar. The few there were were tiny with about four or five pieces visible as "chunks." The taste was great and the 32oz size is helpful. Yes, technically Putanesca by taste, but next time - I make my own!
