Flat Top Tin, Big red taste
Wanted the tin for a craft project.Let's get into Brass Tacks: *1 Initial look, *2 Thoughts on Tin Crafting, *3 Taste and comparisons of the Mints*1the top of the tin is flat, there are no indentations, unlike Altoids which do have indentations; may matter if you're crafting.*2If you strip the paint off the tin you're left with a solid smooth, polished surface over the entire tin.The bottom with nutrition info also came off easy with Aircraft paint remover, so the entire tin is now of a polished chrome look and feel.*3Mints taste exactly like Big Red Gum; but with a sting to it. The Mints have a very sweet taste to them, but it's balanced by a heavy heavy Big Red Gum, cinnamon flavor. These mints are not as earthy or Natural tasting as Altoids counter parts. They are strong and sting a bit due to the intense Big Red flavor, but will not give you the overpowering herbal tastes of Altoids Counter parts. So in summery, if you like Big Red, you'll love this stuff; taste's just like it only more powerful.

The best cinnamon mints!
We love these mints. We buy them in 6 packs when amazon runs sales on them. We’ve noticed the price fluctuates anywhere between $12-$20. Literally within a day last week the price went from $17 to $12.We love these mints for the taste and texture. Not crazy hot cinnamon flavor and they have a great texture to them, not silky smooth, kind of rough with an underlying sweetness to them. My family of 3 will go through a tin of these quite fast. Not due to the fact that they are needed, but purely because we love them so much. I don’t mind us eating these either because they are decent considering so many mints are flavored with who knows what and filled with awful unneeded dyes. These are the same size tin as an altoid with the same size mint. But the 2 taste nothing alike. Altoid are far stronger tasting and a hotter cinnamon flavor. Once we tried these we threw away several tins of the altoid. Once you go Newman’s Own, there’s no going back. We’ve tried 2 other brands of cinnamon mints and these surpass them also. I’ve added photos of a brand new pack. They do come in a boxed 6 pack for storage and then each individual pack has a plastic freshness wrap around it.

Compared to Ginger Altoids...
I was looking for ginger Altoids, which are now so hard to find. Do they even make them anymore? I came across these mints instead and decided to try them. I especially love that they are organic. They are definitely a great alternative for me and will be my go-to ginger mint from now on. They taste slightly different from the ginger Altoids. With the Newman's mints, the ginger kick doesn't hit you right away like they do with Altoids. But the kick is still there with these with a nice ginger aftertaste. I used to eat ginger Altoids to soothe an upset stomach and I think these can do the same for me. The Newman's mints are a little bit bigger than the Altoids and the Altoids mints are a little harder or more solid or something, it's hard to describe. Though the Newman's mints are not soft. I like the taste of the Altoids slightly better, they seemed a little sweeter to me when I did a side by side taste comparison though they both have 2 g of sugar in a serving (3 mints for both). But these are still really good and the fact that these use organic corn syrup (no GMO's) and organic sugar is a bonus to me. And I can't find ginger Altoids anyway. The difference in taste is really only obvious when you taste one right after the other. So if you are looking for an alternative to ginger Altoids, try these! Don't expect them to taste exactly the same but they are close and a very good alternative. Or, if you've never had ginger Altoids but love ginger and want a good ginger mint, try these!

Like others said
I always read reviews for a guideline when making purchasing decisions. Like others said, these are not the most "pretty" or uniform mints- for me I like the cracks since I tend to chew mints rather than have the patience to suck on them (the cracks and crevasses give me a starting point to chip away at the mint rather than try to crack at it with a hard chomp- if that makes any sense or matters to anyone). As for taste these are a great cinnamon flavor, not to harsh and not too mild. At first I though they were a bit spicy towards the end of the mint but that sensation faded. I ordered this 6-pack of tins about a month ago and am down to the last unopened pack. Officially addicted and will be buying more!BONUS-Not only are these organic- but also "Newman's Own" (which profits go to charity), so they are a win/win when it comes to guilt of consumption. No I was not paid to add that part, I just like Newman's products, they are great quality and I don't feel bad giving the company my money.

Good candy, with caveat.
These are delicious ginger candies. They have a fairly strong ginger flavor, and only 2 grams of sugar per 3 candies, and a pretty box :). I bought them to help settle my stomach on long car rides. They do help, but after trying both... the ginger Altoids are better. If you're looking for a strong ginger candy without a ton of sugar, these things are great! If you're looking for a nausea remedy, try Altoids (one of those packs about the same punch as four of the Newman's). But Newman's gingers taste better than Altoids.

ACID REFLUX PEEPS WHO LOVE MINTS! GET THESE
Guys and Gals, who CANNOT I mean their body will send them to the bathroom.. have mints. Get these. I have adhd and I love my gum, but I can't do gum because of my TMJ and then I went to mints. and my Acid reflux wasn't having it. so I turned to ginger mints, which I found don't bother acid reflux. these are pretty tasty and a little "spicy" if you crunch on them. I did get some from trader joes to compare and those are a way heck of a different "spicy". but these do soothe my acid reflux when it gets bad. I highly recommend getting these, yes they are a little pricy but they are worth it.
