As you know Woodpeckers makes great quality items. I only own two of their tools. This straight edge and the 8" square. I use these tools as a datum for all my daily use tools. I use the Woodpeckers tools to verify that my equipment is square and flat. The anodized red is easy to see and contrasts well against a jointer bed, table saw top or whatever your needs are. I also use this to test my tape measures and rulers for accuracy. It's a killer bit of kit.

As with everything I have ever bought from Woodpeckers, this is well made, very attractive and functional. Their products proudly bear the Made in USA badge and demonstrate USA quality. I'll pay their price, they earn it.

This is a very nice straight edge. I would recommend this product to anyone setting up a new machine or recalibrating a piece of equipment. I found other straight edges for less, but they are not anodized aluminum and do not come with protective storage. The 36-inch length and the ability to stand on edge was just what I needed for installing the side extensions on my table saw. I was able to stand the rule on edge leaving both of my hands free to hammer, shim, and feel the joint between the table and the extension wing. Anodized aluminum will not rust like the other less expensive steel straight edges when left in the workshop where the humidity changes through the seasons.

Trueing up my jointer, router table and table saw wings. Yes it's pricey, but item arrived 9 days earlier than promised. Packaging was outstanding. MDF Storage protector a nice plus. Everything about this straight edge is a notch above in quality. It is pretty to look at too. Splurge purchase, we shall see if I continue to buy Woodpecker.

Do you need this? Maybe. It’s accurate and straight. Helped me level many a machine. But it’s also got a nice feel to it. Just feels good to measure and hold with it. And it’s made in the USA. A fine quality tool that saves time and brings you joy when using in my hobby shop? Oh yeah, I can pay a little extra for that.

The straight edge came what looked like a very well packet item, but unfortunately there was slight damage to a plastic item. The straight edge itself is fine. However they used plastic screws to hold anchor items to the storage base. One end came broke off. That is a minor fix, but for the price of the item, I expect higher standards.

Used this to level out my Jointer which was giving me problems. I considered buying other straight edges but I like the idea of this tool also being a ruler which means I get twice the use out of it rather than it only being used for setup once in a while.The case it comes in can be mounted to a wall, which is where my is and the straight edge fits in it snugly enough that it won't fall out. The paint is anodized and I doubt it will get worn off for a long time to come.The tool is well crafted and I'm very pleased with it overall.

Excellent scale and straight edge. My use is in furniture building, measuring and verifying flat edges and faces. The increments are highly visible and discernible when laying out grid lines or any measurements
