So far, so awesome!
I got these boots to serve as my winter boots and was immediately impressed with them as soon as I opened the box. I noticed that despite their burly appearance, the boots were fairly light - far lighter than expected, and I also saw on the tag attached to the boots that they were rated to -65, so they seemed like they were ready for anything.Fit was excellent - they have plenty of room for some nice fat socks, or are comfortable, if a little loose, with more normal weight socks. I tend to wear them with some nice wool socks and the thicker rag wool socks fill the boots nicely, while my smartwools are warm, but leave lots of wiggle room. So far, they've felt a little big, but not necessarily clumsy-big, if that makes sense. But the best part has been what I actually bought them to do. They are very warm - not hot, but cozy - and they have some great traction in the snow and ice, too. They're excellent winter boots and on top of being warm, they also look great. And with their light weight, they also don't slow you down in the snow and ice like some heavier boots might.Overall, I'd be hard pressed to think of what these boots could do better. They fit my needs for a winter boot perfectly and have come through with flying colors.

Not worth the break-in suffering, but certainly warm and waterproof
I expect all boots to need a little breaking in, but these really don’t seem designed for comfort. I gave them a day hiking in snow. Warmth and durability seems totally good, but although they were sized correctly to my feet they rubbed against my ankles and crushed my toes with every step. I felt as if no amount of walking would ever make them feel smooth, so I gave up and chose a different pair instead. I settled on some of a basic design with leather uppers and rubber overs, which were far more pliable. They walked without pinching or chafing, and were warm and rugged. Several months later I am still glad I switched.Personally these are worth only 2 stars to me. But my anatomy is not everyone's. I see a lot of other reviews here indicating that they feel great, and since I wasn't willing to invest the effort to finish breaking them in, I’ll give them the benefit of doubt for an extra star. Perhaps the Bugaboots would have been all right after some time, but still I feel that time was not worth taking. A nice pair of boots feels only a little awkward while new, not painful like these. To speak well of them, I would say they definitely hold up against the elements. They will keep feet warm and dry for probably a long time. The big question is whether you can bend them without pain.

So far, so good...
I bought these to try to cover 2 different applications: ice fishing where you stand around a lot and cold weather hunting requiring active hiking in steep terrain as well as periods of inactivity waiting for game animals. I have hunted in 15 degree temperatures while hiking in up to a foot of snow and my feet stayed warm and dry. Ice fishing will come in January. I bought my regular size 14 and the boots are roomy. I think i could lace them tighter, wear thicker socks or even add some arch supports for a closer fit. I'm a bit nervous about the plastic lacing hooks at the top because of other reports of breakage, so I don't pull very hard on them. They do make it easier to get the boots on and off. These boots are very lightweight -- a major benefit when you wear size 14! I like the relatively high Techlite wrap around the lower part of the boot which should provide a water barrier when standing in slush on a frozen lake. We'll see about that in another month.

My name is: Chronically Cold Toes !
These replace a pair of "insulated" Bass brand (NOT Bass-Pro) w/ rubber-lowers I've had for years, and I never could find any insulative qualities in them at all. I kept them only because they kept out the moisture, and that has now failed, hence, the Bugaboot is now mine. I've worn them only twice, since the NV winter is just really starting in mid-Dec, 2012. I do not like ordering boots on-Line because of size differences by manufacturers, and these are a little loose. However, a thicker sock can take that up. I have chronically cold feet and have worn boots rated to -40F and still had cold toes until I had walked a good distance or worked a while. Sure enough, the toes were cold wearing the Bugaboot, BUT I was outside only a short while. The boot is stiff, but I expect them to relax with wear. These are of high quality construction, and I can at least tell there is insulation in them. I have a good feeling about this purchase.

Fits like a champ, decent
I work as a lift operator, and I bought these boots a few seasons ago. The fit was fine, but they do need to be broken in a bit before they're really comfortable. The waterproofing it good. I've stepped in deep puddles before without getting my socks wet. Obviously, they won't stand up to continuous submersion, but for the occasional step into water, they're fine. They're definitely not super-cold weather boots. They're fine down to about 20F with 1 pair of thick wool socks, but below 20, better wear 2 pairs of socks (a thinner pair under the thick socks). Keeps my feel wonderfully toasty warm even on the 0F nights.

Light, warm, comfy, but...
Bought these boots for my husband who usually wears size 14 Redwing work boot...bought size 16 in these after reading reviews which said they ran small. They fit awesome, they're VERY light, very warm, not stiff. The bad part is that the first time he put them on, one of the eyelets which are made of fabric material instead of plastic or metal, ripped off right away. He said it was fine, because it's in a position where sometimes people skip that eyelet to prevent biting...but he didn't complain. If it wasn't deer season, and I had time to return them I probably would have...but we waited until the last minute before the season so we'll keep them.

Winterschuh
