9.5" across(roll length) and 9" long in the rolling direction. You could probably make a roll about 2.5" in diameter with it.

Where can i get materials to make some of the sushi in the pdf?

Really, any major grocery store, I purchased my items at Kroger. But check to see if there's a local "Asian Market" nearby, as well. In Houston, we have the Hong Kong Market and the China Market (huge!). Just make sure that you get "sushi" rice and vinegar.
