They might uf the stocking doesn’t weigh too much. I used them to hold the garland and a stocking along my stair way but my stockings were empty.

Since they are packed away with my Christmas decorations, I cannot access them to measure the ties right now. I would guess the ties that go around the bannister are approximately 4 inches long.
