Great game, but beware of the region issues (PS5)
I bought this game to play on a PS5 system for my son because he liked the original Ni No Kuni a lot. The disc we received was the European version. We didn't care and my son started to play. He finished the game, and wanted to play the expansion packs. We realized that expansion packs were not compatible because the game was a non-US version. I ordered another copy from another seller (verified that it was the US version). We uninstalled the European version and installed the US version. Expansion packs were available BUT his save files didn't work. As a result, there was no continue option. This is really frustrating. If you care about the expansion packs, double check with the seller to verify that you're buying the US version. He has to start from scratch now, and as you can imagine, this is a very frustrating situation.

A JRPG Masterpiece
This game is by far one of the best JRPG games in the market, although it might lack the seriousness and more adult driven themes in most RPGs its lighter tone and feel gives us the opportunity to be at ease and relax from the storm of adrenaline and intense gameplay experience provided by almost all new games at the moment.Ni No Kuni 2 excels in storytelling, game mechanics and friendly graphics, delivering and different and much needed rested experience in gaming. The Characters are well thought and put a relaxing theme around the whole story, there are no extremes here. The main focus is on the quest drive to help others and built upon the main characters destiny.I really recommend this game to all gamers who are looking for a fresh twist on a very old classic game genre.

Great Gift but make sure they've played Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch first.
I'd recommend you get these as digital versions unless the person in question likes to have hard copies.I love these games. Beautifully crafted. Own it on Steam gave it as a gift. Not sure if they've played it yet but if you've ever seen a Studio Ghibli film you will love this game as well.

If You Loved the First Game, You Won't Be Disappointed!
I finally bought this after completing the Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch for the PS3 a while ago and I love it! The combat style isn't as "turn based" as the original and I like the addition of building your own kingdom and fighting with your army. I have 50 hours of play time so far on expert and I really like the story line. I definitely recommend!

Fantastic Game. Straight up much much better than I ever thought it was.
This game is a LOT better than I thought it would be. I had heard of the series, and I figured I would give it a try and I was blown away. Never having played the first game, my first experience with the gameplay and storyline was this game and I love it. It is an interesting story, basically an Isekai (anime term), it follows 2 very different people with one overarching goal. Make a Kingdom and make it the best one it can be.

Town Managment is a time sink
First off this is the first game in the series that I have played so maybe i just didn't get the complete story but it was all just kind of meh. The battle system is easy to follow but really once you put it on auto you don't ever need to go back. The most challenging thing was going out and finding or remembering were the collectables were, everything else was just to easy. The town management side of things only progress slowly and isnt really needed unless your trying to 100% the game.

watch out for foreign copy
This is not an american copy of Ni No Kuni II, this is australian, it has european ratings.. you can play it on your american PS4 but you will not be able to download any DLC for it, and potentially get updates for it. So i was told.

I’m a fan!
Really like it so far! I bought this game because I’m a big fan of Studio Ghibli, and they had some involvement with the Ni No Kuni games. The graphics are stunning, characters are memorable, and music is beautiful. There are a lot of controls that can be confusing at times, but an easy access controls menu. Seems like it would be a fun game for all ages.

Brilliant!
Positive:- beautiful, stunning visuals, dialogue and music. Played in Japanese. Loved it- very interesting and unique battle system- kingdom building is fantastic- detailed environment with lots of side quests and monsters to fight- new difficult modes- epic adventureNegative:- time consuming (JRPGs tend to be) so don't expect to be a quick thing- field battles can get boring- no detailed tutorials. Game doesn't explain a lot of things like holding R2 to "absorb" higgedys

Captivating
Bought this at the start of 2019 as a stop-gap before The Division 2 came out, and wasn't expecting much. But it turns out to be absolutely brilliant! And totally captivating. It's all very sweet and syrupy, but there's no harm in that once in a while. It looks gorgeous, and is a very solid, very well thought-out and executed AAA title. Really nothing to complain about. On Normal difficulty, it's pretty easy - but again, I'm not complaining. If you want more of a challenge, change the difficulty settings (you can after a post-launch patch), or pick on the harder "purple" monsters. What is impressive is that it blends adventuring, RPG, story-telling, battles, kingdom building, crafting and battlefield skirmishes... and does them all really well.If I had to nitpick, then I'd say that I'm not so keen on when the world "goes large" and your party's characters "go small" - tiny, little diddle versions of their normal selves. It looks a bit stupid, but doesn't detract too much, and the majority of the game is played with your characters at normal size.I haven't finished and it's obviously going to take a long while; these Japanese developers give you a LOT for you money. The Division 2 is going to have to wait; this is too good!

It's "ok"
Having never played the first one, I was curious about the game having had pretty good reviews across the board. I have to say that being a huge RPG fan, this is just alright. Combat is pretty basic, which isn't a bad thing, but fights ether last 5 minutes or 5 seconds. No voice acting is a bit annoying, especially when games 10 years old do and on a bigger scale. Story is OK, but nothing to shout about. Some characters you meet on the way are very cute and well written and dialog is on par with Dragon Quest as it's very "British" humour and speaking. If you have nothing else to play and it's under 20 quid, give is a shot.

Best game I've played this year (2018)!
My general love for anime imagery and the storytelling that comes with that tag make this game breathtakingly beautiful. Great voice acting and characters to become attached to from the off. It's a JRPG, much like Final Fantasy which I could never get into as everything seemed to be complicated. Ni Ni Kuni II is more refined and more simpler to understand for those who've never played a JRPG before so don't be concerned if this is your case. However, I've heard the first game had a better story but I can't confirm that as I've never played it. If you're thinking about getting this game don't hesitate!!!
