If you want the look, they are great
I don't know what all the hate is about on this shocks. They are a bit pricey considering you can get the Injora 4 piece shocks for twenty some bucks and they are pretty much the same shocks with a lot more adjustable springs, so -1 start for that. But the shocks work great. They do not leak so far and my 10lb rig compresses them about half way. I'm running 35W oil in them. They came in with 1 having a bit of oil and one was empty. For the price I would expect them to be filled all the way so -1 star. Its just little greedy things that cause the bad rating but otherwise those are good shocks.

Theyy are gorgeous and once you set them up right, they perform amazingly.
I bought these for a scale Jeep Comanche build I am working on on an Element Enduro Senduro chassis (SCX10 II standard). These shocks are gorgeous but finicky to set-up. Once set-up right, they perform like a 5 star shock, but right out of the box they perform like a 2 star shock. I found a video on YouTube by The Crawl Space that showed the best way to set them up. It involved using differential oil instead of shock oil, since it's heavier, and putting a groove in the cap threads to better help them bleed, and let me tell you these shocks run sooooooooo smooth and sooooooooo consistently after following that video. I would give them 5+ if they ran well out of the box and didn't require nontraditional set-up and a little extra elbow grease, but with their very nice aesthetics and once you get them set-up correctly, I would argue they are some of the best RC crawler shocks on the market.

retainer that holds the spring is missing
I bought these a few months ago and when I opened them the retainer for the bottom of the front shocks is missing. So the shocks are not usable.

Best you can ask for
I run these on a Comp scx10 that weights about 8-10 pounds in full droop and angled at about 80 degrees from the axle. Probably the biggest changer in my whole setup! That's saying something with running 2speed trans, brushless with selectable lockers and dig. Smooth articulation and no major leaks. I run them on all my rigs. If installed correctly they don't give harsh driveshaft angles.
