Wanted to be able to voice-control our new Samsung TV. Spotted this one on Amazon, ordered it, and received it in a timely fashion. However, neither my wife nor I were able to open the battery compartment to install the needed batteries (not included with the remote). It took our next door neighbor to finally get it opened.Now, about the product itself. It paired perfectly with TV and Samsung soundbar we had also purchased.Somehow, we had misplaced, or inadvertently thrown out the original purchased April 30th, necessitating a reorder on May 14th. The issue of opening the battery compartment was the same with the new unit - same method of getting it open was applied.If there is a drawback to the remote (same issue with OEM remote) is with its size and function buttons. But once you become accustomed to volume and mute controls being integrated within the same button, everything else makes it a great product.Highly recommend (Twice)!

First, the remote will work right out of the package, but to use the microphone functions, you will need to pair it. Instructions are included in the package (picture provided). I was frustrated at first because it wasn't controlling my soundbar's volume, but with Samsung, you need to set up a universal remote through the TV. I kept looking at my soundbar's settings, but it's actually a TV setting. The design, in my opinion, is nicer than Samsung's. Usually you'll find a lot of products that dont match the image provided but not here. And for $20, I don't think you'll find a cheaper one. If you were hesitant, I think this is a good replacement option.

Amazing remote.. you don’t even have to point it at the tv for it to do whatever you want it to. Just aim anywhere and hit the button and boom command executed

It is a remote. It is working at the moment. Nothing special about it at all. This is the second remote to purchase in a year, I hope this one last longer than the last remote. Did choose a different one this go around.

This thing is terrible and I wish I never bought it and I only use it if I can’t find the other remotes, and when I do that, I’m still annoyed by it. I have to push the buttons 17,000 times and it still barely works.

Well it surely works!!! I was fighting to keep the original remote to my Samsung but it started to intermittently lose connection to the tv. So frustrating. I thought that I had to purchase from Best Buy or directly from Samsung. and then I decided to give Amazon a try. I had a hard time getting the battery cover off, and had to use rubber gloves for the friction, finally got it off, put the batteries and I did not have to pair, the remote immediately worked. Now I've got to invest in batteries and not the solar energy charge.

Easily set up for use. Good replacement for my Samsung TV.

The controller does what it says it will do; control a Samsung TV. However, it doesn’t do it well at all. Sometimes the TV doesn’t even notice that I am pressing buttons, and have to point it from a certain direction to a specific spot on the TV. The voice control never seems to work. It is a good design, and works as a replacement for my solar / usb controller. I had no issues connecting it to my TV. Decent value for the price. I wish it would work a bit better.
