I want the pumps specs please.

120V, 60HZ, 2W. Small pump, roughly 2 inch cube.

Does it make a sound when the bottom hits the standing pole?

Yes, it makes a sound. The bamboo standing pole is for convenience. You can slip it off of the base and replace it with a real stone, which is the traditional sound.

The pump won't turn on. The instructions say to insert and remove the plug several times to prime the pump but it doesn't seem to work either. Help?!

We had to ensure the water supply tube was filled with water before it started working.. hopes this help because it's a wonderful fountain.
