Does this product replace fabric softener or should it be mixed with it? I ask as the directions are not clear

On it's own.That my view + it may stop mold in the washing machine, but I will give you an update after I've ask which & may be DettolHave been using since last may and are happy with it. I will recommend it

Hi, yes you use this instead of the softener. It's more watery than a normal conditioner, but I find that the clothes do come out of the dryer quite soft.

Is this product necessary? Presumably if it was then it would have to be added to all wash detergents. ?

I presume it would 'up the price' for everyone's washing products if it was added at source. I like it because I can add when needed for work,gardening and gym clothing washed at lower temperatures, it also keeps my washing machine fresh I don't get the black greasy film on the door seal as much now.

Really depends on how much you are going to use, think you get about 15 washes per bottle, I personally use the subscribe and save.
