I found this type of substrate easy to use. I have used it as the primary substrate for some container trees and mixed with other products (such as the All-Purpose Blend by same company) for other trees. So far my trees (deciduous species including Elm, Maple, Ash and Mulberry) seem to be doing well. This soil blend drains well and looks attractive as well with sort of orange and beige tones. There's a clear color difference between wet and dry which helps identify when plants may need watering. I've also noticed that the mosses I use around some of my trees also do well over this soil blend.

Repotted two bonsais and this soil seems pretty good so far

Very handy and good mixture for bonsai plants. Excellent drainage, I mix in peat moss and some potting soil as well for a little better water retention and to provide organic material for growth.

Tiny roots Bonsai soils are amazing ! Have now tried Deciduous, Tropical, and Conifer Soils. All my trees are more than thriving. Repotted nursery stock, as well as some purchased bonsai trees that were potted in potting soil with minimal perlite, and covered with tiny gravel. These trees were waterlogged before the repotting. Now they are doing beautifully and getting greener by the day.
