The media could not be loaded. The Kwumsy K2 keyboard is not just a "keyboard". It is a heavy duty mechanical keyboard with its own 1920 x 515 display. Yes, a high resolution display. This is very unusual to have a keyboard with its own screen.1. Boxing and Unboxing:The Kwumsy K2 comes in a heavy black box with gold prints on the outside of the sleeve. On the bottom of the sleeve is the product specification, connection diagram and accessory list. The actual multifunctional touch keyboard nests inside heavy packing foam. The screen is protected with the black film.The keyboard comes with a black carry bag, wrist rest, the USB-C to USB-C cable, USB-C to HDMI/USB cable, instruction booklet and the tool to change key caps. All look very high quality.My first impression of the keyboard unit is that, this thing is heavy. Very heavy. The unit weights about 5.5 lbs, the same weight of a gaming laptop. So it is not the type of portable keyboard that some people like. It is supposed to be set up with a large desk, at the center of a powerful system.The entire unit measures 335mm x 216mm, or 13" x 8.5". The screen is 330mm x 110mm, or 13" x 4.5". The screen resolution is 1920 x 515 at 60 hz.At the back of the unit are one USB-C port and two USB-A ports. There are also a power button, plus + and minus - buttons.The entire unit is well built. It is built like a tank. Very solid.2. Connections:The unit connects with other devices with either a USB-C, or USB type C cable, or the more traditional HDMI + (2) USB-A connector cable.To use the USB-C connection, it must be a full-featured Type C connection. I'm not sure what devices can directly connect to this unit. I tried a regular Samsung Galaxy phone and the keyboard+screen did not turn on. So I believe the Galaxy phone is just not powerful enough. Certain Huawei and Samsung Android phones may work.When I connected Kwumsy K2 to my Dell Alienware laptop with the USB Type C cable, K2 turned on immediately. It is plug and play. No need to download driver etc.For testing, I also connected Kwumsy K2 to my Dell desktop through the HDMI + USB-A cable. The video card of the desktop has both regular DVI monitor connection and the HDMI port. At the desktop side, I connect the HDMI connection and two USB connections. The other end is the USB Type C connection into Kwumsy K2.The Kwumsy K2 monitor is an independent display. We configure the K2 monitor the same way as we connect our second monitor. We can arrange the two displays side by side. Or we can set them up and down. I like to set up the main monitor and the K2 display up and down. It is the natural setting since K2 sits right in front of the main monitor.3. Functions and Usage:Kwumsy K2 works brilliantly. K2 display is very bright. Its 1920x515 resolution matches the 1920x1080 laptop resolution. The display responds quickly, no lagging.The keyboard is a real mechanical key with 71 keys. There are no Fn function keys and no keypad section. But there are Fn hotkey combo to emulate those Fn keys. The keys are on the solid or hard side. We just need to get used to. Some like hard and some like soft. All keys do make the mechanical sound. For the people who like silent keystrokes, this keyboard is not for them.The RGE LED backlights are very bright. It is very colorful and it is one of the main selling point. The RGB backlight can be turned off when in gaming mode.The touch screen can be set up within Windows "Tablet PC Settings". I did not fully test the touch screen. Not sure how many people would want to use the touch screen. We do not want to leave dirty fingerprints on the screen.With the 1920 x 515 display resolution, it is about just half of the 1920x1080 main screen resolution. It is best to use the K2 display as the secondary or auxiliary display. It is up to each person's imagination how to put on the K2 secondary display. For gamer, K2 display can be used for game room chatting. Or to display Steam or Voobly game information. Other people can also use K2 display for Spotify and other online chatting.For video or photo editor, the K2 display can be used for photo/video index or directory, or media list like film of photos.Online traders or investors always want more desktop space. You can put on almost any info on the K2 screen. K2 display can be used for news flash, portfolio P/L information. Or the graph or chart of your favorite financial security.4. Summary:Kwumsy K2 is the Mercedes of gaming keyboard. It is so well built with qualify materials. It should last for many years. The mechanical keys feel pleasant.The K2 unit is very easy to set up. No additional software or driver is needed. Its 1920x resolution fits well with modern laptop or computers. It feels naturally an extension of the main display.This keyboard is packed with many more functions. There are various gaming modes. Fn function hotkeys etc.It is really up to each buyer's decision how to use the K2 display. Be creative.Kwumsy K2 is packed with a lot more power. Most people may not use some of most of the features. But the power is there if you need it.The main question is if this keyboard/display combo is good for you. Kwumsy K2 is like a $65,000 Mercedes car. It is clearly different from a $15,000 KIA or so. For the budget gamers, $400 is too much investment. For people who invest in like $2,000 gaming gear, K2 is an excellent match.
