I received the chair as a gift and I can't seem to get the chair to open up. What do I do to open up the chair?

David- The chair opens up really easily. You just literally pull the seat and back rest apart. It should open quite easily.

Can anyone tell me the allowable weight capacity?

I'm 275 pounds 6 foot 3 and it's holding up for me pretty good it's nice and sturdy

How do you attach the shoulder strap?

Hello and greetings from Kanab Utah ... please take note of the attached "D" rings on the carrying shoulder strap. The hook end of the strap will wrap around any part of the chair to then be attached to the "D" ring securing it for transport. I did not notice the "D" rings at first and was attempting to locate an attachment point on the chair to secure the hooks to. I feel bad for the person here posting that they ended up discarding the carry shoulder strap in frustration for not being able to attach the strap to the chair. This chair is very well made and the strap design is actually very thoughtful being that you can attach it to the chair in any location that is most comfortable and convenient for your situation. What is the weight capacity?

At the time I got my chair I weighed over 250, and there was no problems at all. Really well built. The rod holder feature does not really work. Now that I have used this chair I really like it.
