One of the best flip folders I've used
I have carried the same Benchmade blade pretty much every day for about 10 years. When I lost it in the woods I tried a couple other every day carry knives (in the $120 plus range) and didn't love everything about them so returned them. I happened upon a picture of this knife while reading a review of another and thought the profile was pleasing enough to at least look at. Once I read some reviews, I figured it was a good bet to at least use for a while until I found a good every day carry replacement and then relegate this Civivi to a backup status. However, once in hand, I see no reason why I won't be using this knife for years until something happens to it. First, the size - it's not a massive knife and it's (just barely) under 3-inch blade is just about perfect for anything you could throw at it. You don't use these sized knives and think, "I wish I had a bigger blade for this task." You can pretty much do anything with it short of food preparation. I think the reason most people justify a larger knife is handle size. Here, the handle to blade ratio is as good as it gets on a folder (in my opinion). the slight swell at the butt enhances the grip and the notches on the back spine allow you to choke up with your thumb, while your pointer can grip the choil. The micarta scales are perfectly grippy and look far better than plastic. That this knife comes in several variations is a big plus. Mine is the olive color micarta and it's a warm, earth tone that doesn't look out of place on a knife, in my opinion. The color is subtle as is the design of the knife. The understated aesthetics are what drew me to look at the knife in the first place. I think it's well designed. The blade itself is as well-finished as the rest of the knife (fit and finish overall are as good as any factory blade I've seen). Edge from the factory is very good and the grind is smooth. Edge retention so far is good. Some people complain about D2 steel. For one thing, it's as hard as a knife needs to be (assuming the heat treat is good and this one seems to be) and you're not using it as a pry bar! Secondly, I've never had a problem with non-stainless steel rusting on me when I was using a tool every day, even with minimal care. The flip action is just fine (I really don't care how fast a knife flips... you can pay big money for that and you've really just got a nice fidget toy). It does what it's supposed to and locks into place with no blade play at all after using it for a week or so every day.Lastly, the deep-carry clip is nice. I can't understand why more knives don't utilize them. I wonder how resilient it will be given that I've only carry it for a week or so. Either way, the design is good and it won't slip out of your pocket or get easily caught in seat belts, etc. like even some of the more high-end knives I've owned do.In short, a really great value.

The Everyday Carry King
Alright, let’s talk about the CIVIVI Elementum—the kind of knife that makes you feel like a rugged, no-nonsense man even if the toughest thing you cut all week was an Amazon box.First off, that black stonewashed D2 blade is straight-up mean-looking. It’s sharp enough to shave a gnat’s beard and tough enough to handle whatever nonsense you throw at it—wood, rope, or even those annoying plastic clamshell packages that exist solely to ruin your day. Now, the Micarta handle? Smooth, grippy, and just the right amount of rugged. It won’t slip, even if your hands are greasier than a plate of buffalo wings. And let’s talk about that buttery-smooth deployment—CIVIVI dialed in the action so well that flicking it open feels more satisfying than cracking a cold one after a long day.Final Verdict:For the price, this thing punches WAY above its weight. If you’re looking for an EDC knife that won’t break the bank but makes you feel like an absolute unit, the Elementum is the move. Get one. Heck, get two—you’ll want a backup when your buddy “borrows” it forever.Score: 9.5/10

Nice looking, easy to carry knife!
Lost my old pocket knife so replaced it with this CIVIVI Elementum Pocket Folding Knife (Black Stonewashed D2 Blade, Micarta Handle, dark green).Just got it so these are my first thoughts. Very happy with the knife. Blade is pretty sharp and opens quite easily using my forefinger. Black clip should hide easily in my pants pocket. First time with a Micarta handle but it has a good grip and feels good in my hand. I got the Dark Green color which is really dark — looks more like light black with olive highlights. Knife is light at 2.74 oz so it should be easy to carry even with light fabric shorts. Looking forward to using more! One quick update. Knife is great but I lost it while clipped to my right front pants pocket while riding a bike. In fact, I may of lost the previous knife I had the same way. Should have figured it out earlier -- just warning you in case you like to wear the same way and ride a bike. I will replace with the same knife.Another update. The clip is attached by two, very small hex screws. They became loose and I lost one before realizing what is happening. This means the clip becomes unusable and spins with one screw. Knocking a star off since you will need probably need to buy a special small hex wrench to tighten these screws.

Beautiful Little Pocket Knife
I use to collect low to mid priced pocket knives and kind of got out of the hobby a few years ago. I've recently found myself watching reruns of Forged in Fire on OTA television, and watching the show rekindled my urge to pick up a new pocket knife. I wanted a knife with micarta scales and a d2 blade. After searching the interwebs for a bit I kept coming across this guy.Now that I have had it in hand for a few days I have to say that I really like it alot. I like the minimal simple design, flat scales, and drop point hollow grind blade profile. This is my first knife with micarta scales and I love the way that the scales feel in hand. Feels similar to smoothly sanded raw wood, and it seems like its going wear in and continue to look more beautiful with age. This is also my first knife with a d2 steel blade. The finish of the steel looks great, and It was razor sharp out of the box. I haven't had to sharpen it yet, but from everything I've read I expect it to take and hold a nice edge.I really don't have anything negative to say about the knife. Scales are in good shape, blade opens and closes nicely and sits centered in the frame when closed. Also no blade play whatsoever. I've paid more for knives that couldn't say all those things in the past.A great knife, and now that I'm back into the knife hobby I look forward to trying more from Civivi and We Knife in the future.
