Firstly, I think this mini roll should be packaged with Eric Franklin's book without instructions, a novice to ball rolling or Eric Franklin's exercises may find it somewhat useless. Having used Eric Franklin's book but the mini roll not readily available, I found that I collected an eclectic assortment of balls trying to substitute.I was so pleased with the results of the first mini roll that I ordered the second. These mini rolls are great for working with TMJ, neck, "traps", "pec", and sacrum. They are just the right size. They can be filled with the amount of air that most suits the user. Practically speaking, shipping them without air is good as it eliminates the balls expanding, bursting or otherwise being damage during shipping.My physical therapist is now considering ordering them for use with her clients.

I use the "Franklin" ball for physical therapy exercises recommended by my PT for back and hip. My PT demonstrated a number of uses for the ball for spinal, upper back and shoulder also, but those aren't particular problem areas for me. The Franklin ball works much better for many exercises which require you to "grip" the ball with legs or knees as the shape of the ball conforms better to your body than a round ball.
