Yes, the Scraminal uses heat sensors to detect moving objects that cross the sensor path (see prnt. sc/xtbgtb).

Q: I need this to deter unfriendly neighbors. this will work on humans, right? and does it only work while indoors?

It should work on people, however, the Scraminal isn't weatherproof so we only recommend using it indoors. You may contact Amtek at 844~243~0255 / 518~557~0388 / 760~944~0622 to inquire about a weatherproofing case.

Allow me to clarify: High setting is as loud as a fire alarm going off IN your apartment Low setting is as loud as the fire alarm going off down your apartment hallway (softer by 30-40%)

The Scraminal runs on one 9V alkaline battery.
