Subnautica: Below Zero (PS4)

Truly superb game series. Yes this second title is somewhat lacking in ideas, but carries over loads of great stuff.Unfortunately if you’ve played the first one, this one will probably be over quickly. The map doesn’t feel huge. You’re thrown into the danger waters quickly. You’ll find the items fast and easily - they replenish often. The materials are plentiful, so not a challenge.But on the plus side the game works. It’s a proper title that’s nearly polished. Just the odd bug here and there that’s not a game breaker; no different to the AAA titles. The mechanics are smooth; controls really good; graphics pleasant. Sounds also peaceful.It’s a very easy game to pick up and play.If only there was DLC or the game were to be x2 as big.

Perfect for my 10 year old. He builds underwater worlds and really believes in them. Good for his creative output.Needs to be managed with real life experience though. He would do this 24 7 if allowed!

Below Zero as it's name suggests is set partly underwater in a very cold place. Don't make the mistake of thinking it's a follow on from Subnautica though. If you do, you'll be disappointed. It's it's own game, with it's own story to tell. A little bit smaller but I enjoyed it a lot.

Although only just started exploring this appears to be a great game with diverse and beautiful areas to explore. The story keeps you looking for new crumbs and parts of the narrative. The crafting and base building requiring more and new resources is a nice extension to the overall experience.Highly recommended.

Great game, played the previous one an loved it so buyin this was a no brainer. Deffo recommend this and Subnautica also.
