Does this clay need to be fired? If not, will it take acrylic paint and set to a hard finish- will it be fragile or soft ?Thank you!

Hello NorthernLaurel, no, this clay is not suitable to be fired up in any way. You mold it as many times as you wish and will never harden. You may say is like children's playdough, but with a professional quality for artists. Great stuff.

Do you bake this in an oven to harden?

Hi, there! No, you can’t bake this clay, it will melt. It’s an oil based clay. This clay is hard on its own. Even at normal room temperature it’s hard no need to bake to harden, it holds its shape. It doesn’t dry out ever, yet it still soft to touch and hard to stay what you make it out to be. With the help of sculpting tools of course like wire. For those who sculpt know what I mean, by wire. You may even, have to warm it up, under a lamp to help it soften it at first, especially if you’re buying the hard green clay. If you’re sculpting, use the help of wiring to help support your art. I have the medium clay, for sculpting it holds its shape perfect. Hope it helps!
