Great All-Arounder
Well built, not overly heavy. It's a perfect size(16") for working or gaming. AMD processor and GPU, so it works well. I know a lot of people prefer Nvidia cards, but this works very well. Not too loud under load, but you won't be able to game in a classroom and get away with it. I got this on sale for ~$1200 with 64GB 4800MT/s DDR5 memory and 2 TB of storage space, which makes it a really good value. I would recommend if you need a laptop for a multirole purpose like I did.

5 years later: solid but flawed
Have had this laptop for just under 5 years so I figured I’d give a review. I have used it regularly the whole time I’ve had it and it’s performed admirably, and can still play modern games reasonably well, especially with new technology like LSFG. However, since day one it’s been plagued by what I believe is an overheating issue. The computer is 100% reliable when plugged in with the fan on Turbo mode, but when run with a slower fan setting OR when running off the battery, it randomly shuts down. The problem seems worse when the computer is idling. It was sent to Asurion twice as I purchased the optional warranty from them, both times they just reinstalled Windows and sent it back, not at all addressing the issue. I should have sent this back to Asus when the factory warranty was still applicable but that’s my fault. Overall I like this laptop, as I primarily use it while stationary anyway, so being plugged in all the time isn’t an issue, but I’d never buy Asurion warranties again. If you buy this laptop (or any other) and have an issue, either return/replace it or send it back to the manufacturer immediately. Overall 4/5 stars.

Review from a normal Desktop Gamer
Update.... so I still love this laptop however there is one major issue. If you want to play portable (without the charger) you Cannot play in turbo mode. That means for games like destiny 2 you would get 30/50 frames. When you have it plugged in and on turbo you get in the low 100s so double the frames. Just something to think about if you are wanting to play without having to be plugged in.I have only had this for 1 day officially so I will go over first impressions and update if anything changes.1.) Performance: i have a Desktop PC with a I7-9700k and 2080 Super. It feels like equal Performance and I appear to be getting comparable FPS. The Sound is ok better then most monitor speakers.2.) Battery: while its expected on gaming laptops not on the charger running turbo you may get 2 hours (maybe) there are worse batteries out there so on high performance 2 hours is generous. If you are playing without power kick back to performance mode (you may lose some FPS) but you might get another 20-30 minutes of battery.3.) Fans: you can change the fan level extremely easy. Silent is 100% quiet. Performance mode you can hear it slightly but not loud enough to bother you. Turbo (what should be used while gaming) is noticeably loud however not as loud as other similarly priced models so I was shocked there.4.) Weight: it is very heavy. Its not so heavy that you can't transport it easily but its noticeably heavier then you would expect. Not a deal breaker.5.) RGB: if you are really into RGB this Laptop may have been made for you. RGB is nice but I bought it more for the Performance. I Generally turn RGB off but it looks great on this laptop so I left it in Static.Overall: since its only been 1 day I can't say if it's 100% worth it but after my first day I am going to say it is. I have not experienced any noticeable issues while gaming it has been running cool while under load. I would buy this again if I was still on the market.

Very slow in refunding my money for a defective laptoo
ASUS TUF A16 Gaming Laptop,...Was defective, after 30 minutes to an hour the screen would flash white with thin bars of color across the screens entirety, I sent the laptop back on May 8th , today is the 21st of may with still no refund of approximately 1400.00 dollars, I have written Amazon in the hopes that they will crack the whip Ang get my money back. I am not a politician and only have a limited amount of money, thus expense is a lot for us .. I would highly suggest you not buy from this warehouse company or its affiliates. If you look who the seller is, there might be a different name but I believe the LLC is the same. 13 days with transit is way to much time to get your refund for defective electronics
