My daughter (now 10u) has been playing catcher since she was 4 or 5 years old and has gone through a lot of gear over the years. When she moved to a new team recently she was required to have her own set of gear due to COVID (no sharing/communal gear allowed). I asked her what her biggest complaints about gear were, and she mainly said the knee area was uncomfortable, the gear was very bulky, and it was a hassle to take on/off several times a game (she usually needed help). The Jen Schro set seemed to tick all of the boxes to be her ideal set of gear. She’s probably about the average size 10u girl and the small set fits her nicely. The helmet and chest protector are quite adjustable as well, which is nice. She absolutely loves the leg guards and says it’s like her knees are on pillows compared to her old team’s Louisville Slugger gear. We added the small size knee savers as well (you have to unlace the elastic straps to attach them, the clips are too large to thread through the D-rings on the knee savers) and they work well. I had to cinch the helmet up a bit for it to fit snugly, but it’s quick and easy to adjust. She says it’s quite comfortable and she likes the fact that the helmet is make such that it doesn’t block her peripheral vision. The chest protector is probably the most innovative part of the set, since it’s designed to fit more snug and not be the more floppy type protector of other brands. The front clips make it really quick and easy for her to take on/off without help... another feature she really loves. After watching so many kids struggle with ill-fitting gear, I thought it was worth the investment (lets be real - this gear isn’t cheap) to have the gear be protective and comfortable, but also get out of the way and let her play to the best of her ability. This is our first set of higher end catcher gear, and in my opinion it’s made her a more agile player. She seems to fuss with the leg clips and chest protector FAR less than with other gear shes used in the past. She also likes the motivational sayings inside the gear and was showing it to her teammates at her first game. My only real complaint is that for this much $$$ it should at least have included some sort of bag to carry it in - even a cheap duffle with a big Easton ad on the side (free advertisement... hint hint) would have been adequate. If I try, I can stuff it in her DeMarini Black Ops bag, with both of her mitts, field mask, helmet, two bats, etc ... but it’s quite a tight fit. Oh well, the gear itself seems top notch and she is very pleased with it - which is really what matters.

I got the gear for my daughter because she destroyed her twin bothers catchers gear… she was very skeptical about it (she air quoted) “designed for the woman’s torso”… she loves it, says she takes back the stuff she was saying… so it’s worth the money in my eyes.

Fit perfect and very height quality material. We love it.

My daughter loves the fit, easy to adjust and feels much more comfortable for her. Helmet is significantly better than what she had (Easton regular gear) and the chest protector grips to her jersey, keeping it in place and making it more easy to move. She is a normal/smaller sized pre-teen and the medium fit perfectly.
