This Product Saved My Printer and Gave it New Life
After slightly more than 13 years my OfficeJet 8600 Pro Plus stopped working about 2 ½ weeks ago after replacing 2 new cartridges. With an error message “ Printer Failure There is a problem with the printer or ink system." I tried to fix it, but no luck. I found out afterwards the problem may have occurred because I waited until the cartridges were completely empty. I’ve done this before but never had a problem, and never had any printing issues in 13 years. The next day I took my printer to a local computer shop. He ordered a new what I believe to be an aftermarket print head. The same error message appeared. He spent some time with it, finally gave up, and I brought the printer home, more than a week later.I wanted to try an HP Print head but all my searches came up with aftermarket ones. I finally found an HP part number that came with four printer starter cartridges, so I searched that part number and found it on Amazon. The part arrive late yesterday I did the install, at first I thought it was not going to work the error message remained, and then it went away, the printer was making some noises and finally hung up with silence, and not doing anything. I tried to turn the power off but it wouldn’t let me said it can’t be interrupted, so I unplugged the printer and plugged it back in. The printer than began to do a setup it took several minutes maybe 5 minutes then it finally printed an alignment page. I tested the printer and it was like new again. What I’ve learned from this don’t wait until the ink is completely gone. I don’t recommend a generic aftermarket print head, it may work and again it may not.I’m so happy that I was finally able to save my 8600 printer and hope it last more years to come.

HP replacement head.
Yes, so far it works perfectly. The price was a little higher than some others but this one was an HP replacement with ink and some of the others didn't seem to have very good ratings.

Fast delivery and Quick installation!
New HP printhead arrived sooner then expected. Printhead was well sealed, but setup cartriges were less so and a little dusty. Never the less installation was very easy and printer was up and running ln less than 10 minutes. Thank you!

Worked fine after second printer head replacement
Frist Printer Head was the wrong head although it was a HP CR322A. Wrong configuration that would not accept the 950/951 ink cartridges. I explained the problem and requested a replacement describing the correct ink cartridge configuration. The replacement came in about 8 days and worked perfectly. Gave 4 stars because of the initial print head was the wrong one.

Fixed my cartridge error.
Using non-HP ink cartridges seemed to have trashed my original print head. Printer wouldn't recognize ANY cyan cartridge I installed, even a new HP one. I held my breath in buying this new print head, not sure if it would fix the problem, but thankfully it did! Seems to be a genuine HP print head too.

Great replacement
This new printhead worked great. I have had my printer for a long time so was hesitant to replace with a printhead that seemed expensive when I could just but a new printer. But I like my printer and am happy with how the replacement worked.

It prints but not sure what to do now.
My printer hasn't printed color for quite some time. There may be some slight color in the print but for the most part it's black. I bit the bullet and purchased this printer head and cartridge kit in hopes of getting color prints again. When I received the kit the instructions said I needed to use the supplied cartridges or it wouldn't work. But when I replaced everything and when I closed the door you heard the head move to the right then a window immediately popped up saying that ALL the cartridges were missing. I remove the cartridges and put them back in and the same thing happened. I took everything out and put it back in its package and came back a few days later and tried it again. After installing the printer head and cartridges again the same window came up saying all the cartridges were missing again. I took the cartridges out and put them back in making sure they were seated in properly but the same thing happened again. So out of desperation I put in my old cartridges to see what would happen. The instructions said it wouldn't work but I tried it to see. And it recolonized the cartridges and started printing. I do have red and black but the rest of the colors aren't accurate at all. So now my dilemma is that I want to send it back because it's not working properly but now I'm afraid they will say it's used and not cover it. So I think I just screwed myself.I'm not sure how to contact HP about this but still pursuing it. I would say if it doesn't work right away, just send it back.
