Excellent for audio
I use this cable going from my Xfinity router/modem to either of two pieces of audio equipment: an Oppo 105D universal player or a P S Audio DirectStream DAC. The sound quality is very good when used for this purpose and for a very reasonable price especially when compared to more expensive Ethernet cables. Excellent price/performance.

Fine cable - no complaints
Does this cable do what it's advertised? Maybe? Ethernet is pretty solid on its own, and much better transmitted through cabling than, say, USB signals. Do you need an Audioquest cable for this job? Sure, but I would stick to a 3' (no less) cable, and if you're running longer distances, you can do just fine with good 23AWG CAT-6 riser or plenum cabling. Despite what the cost is, you just need good, short cabling that stays away from interference, and has great terminations on both ends. If you're a Mastering Engineer like me, or a super-audiophile that just wants to eliminate all possibilities of impurity, Audioquest is going to be awesome to use. But AQ Pearl is really more than enough to work with at short distances. This is coming from an engineer who uses AQ Carbon USB cables, if that helps. For USB, I do recommend at least that. Ethernet is less prone to transmission issues.

Strong consistent signal.....
I had trouble with some well know brand name Cat 6 cables not holding my internet speed. Comcast increased our speed free of charge to 200Mbps. We have a high end Arris modem and wireless Linksys router that the Cat cable goes between. Started using Audioquest cables for optical, power, USB, HDMI, and now Ethernet applications. They do a good job of sending a strong consistent flow of data due to the way they are constructed. Love the strong ends on the Pearl cable. Noticed a stronger, faster, and more consistent signal when I speed tested my internet as well as my Xbox One S. Xbox live and the overall internet run faster and smoother!! It was a noticeable improvement over several brand names........ Audioquest makes a difference. They have many different levels of cables. But this one did the trick!!! Wow!!! Even the so called lower level cables from Audioquest blow away many name brands and trust me I have tried them all...... The Pearl Ethernet cable is well built and performs like a champ .... thank you Audioquest.....

Worth it
I was skeptical that it would make a difference, after all the theory of ethernet says it shouldn't. But for $30 for the 1.5 meter, I figured why not? It made a difference. Clear audible improvement, far beyond the possibility of placebo effect. So $45 for a 3 meter, covers server to router and router to audio system computer. Additional improvement. Conclusion: money well spent. My Objectivist engineer friend said "as long as the cable isn't defective, it shouldn't make a difference." I used to agree. Now, I would say that there are degrees of defect, and an imperfect cable may function for normal data transmission, but music is time sensitive, and a better cable will have a lower error rate than an ordinary one. I could be wrong, I'm not an engineer. But the aural evidence is clear.

Very good cable. I did some various speed tests between this Cat7 cable, Fosmon Premium Cat7 Shielded Ethernet Patch Cable and a Cat 5e generic yellow cable.I ran each cable 10 times on my Comcast cable internet and came up with roughly these results.Cat 5e averaged 116.25 MbpsFosmon Premium Cat7 averaged 118.75 MbpsAudioquest Pearl 119.75 MbpsI also did some tests on my PS4 and came up with these results after running each cable various times going back and forthCat 5e averaged 17.1 MbpsFosmon Premium Cat 7 averaged 17.6 MbpsAudioquest Pearl 17.9 MbpsI don't really notice any sound difference, but I am going to try a Cinnamon Audioquest cable and see if it makes any more difference. After that they way too costly.

Cinnamon is much better
I didn't notice much upgrading to this cable from a generic RJ/E, but I noticed a very noticeable difference going from this one to the Cinnamon. I'd suggest just getting the Cinnamon and seeing if you notice a difference (return if not).

Does make a difference at least for me.
Well , I bought this cable to replace the Time Crap Warner cable that was installed by the tech for the modem and to my surprise it matter. My Internet speed has been very stable on speakeasy speed test. Very well made cable n best part is the connection fits really snuggled in the ethernet port . Bought a second one to replace the one going into my router .
