DISPATCH: ZIMBABWE - Live at Madison Square Garden w/ audio

If you are looking for something different from the usual beyond 1980's shlock then I highly recommend this band and their last live concert. I saw this band on Paladia and had to have the Cd. They are American rock crossed with some African rythms. I have heard others call it a cross with hip hop or rap but I dont agree. The band plays their music well and it really shows in a live concert. The cross between the two music types blends incredibly well. I cant over recommend a listen. Even if you dont care for it you have not really lost that much and I can remember a day when that was a regular thing.

This product was pretty cheap when I first ordered it. I received it (rather quickly) and was very pleased to find out that I got much more bang for my buck than what I was expecting. Not only did I get my concert DVD and live audio tracks disc. I also unexpectedly obtained an internet card that gave me access to many more live songs virtually that were not included on my second disc. It was simply that pleasant surprise that made me love this product. Maybe you'll get one too!

Just discovered these guys and I'm crushed that I didn't know about them when they were together. Anyway, great concert film. Looks awesome, even upconverted to my HDTV. Not the best sound mixing of a live concert that I've heard, but still sounds great.Sounds silly, but the menus look sharp and have cool beats under them. Just a nice touch to show they didn't cheap-out with production.The audio disc is a nice bonus. Great work ... Get this DVD!

i sadly did not discover the world of dispatch until they broke up and after the zimbabwe concert already passed, so i live vicariously through their dvd's. if you had no choice and had to pick between this, under the radar, all points bulletin, and the last dispatch...i would say pick under the radar first, and this second. but i have them all because i am obsessed. amazing band, amazing music, buy it!

Even with the free downloads this was very disappointing. I can't get enough of the live guitar sets from the Madison Square Garden telecast. I actually thought it was some of the best drum and guitar i had seen in many, many years. I expected the same music to be on the CD or the free downloads. I was sadly mistaken.

Ich habe mich sehr auf diese Live-CD gefreut, da Live-CDs oft ein Gefühl der Begeisterung vermitteln und die Stimmung des Publikums einfangen können. Doch leider schafft es diese CD nicht. Die Tonqualität ist ausreichend, oftmals ist die Lautstärke der Sänger bzw. des Sängers und der Instrument nicht aufeinander abgestimmt. Es bleibt das Gefühl, dass der Sänger gegen die Instrumente ansingt. Die Gitarrenakkorde klingen nicht sauber gegriffen und an manchen Stellen klingt es qualitativ eher wie eine Schulband. Der Kinderchor ist sicherlich eine nette Idee, doch musikalisch nicht überzeugend. Die Live-Version von "The General" ist enttäuschend; es wird m. E. zu schnell und zu hastig gesungen, was gerade der Aussagekraft des Liedes nicht gerecht wird.

Was soll man zu dieser live DVD noch sagen, sie hat alles was eine geniale DVD ausmacht. Es gibt eine Live DVD wo allerdings an den extras etwas gespart wurde. Außerdem gibt es, was ich immer sehr toll finde, auch noch eine Bonus CD dazu.Jetzt zur Musik:Die Trackwahl finde ich ist sehr gelungen. Ebenso die Wahl der Reihenfolge der Songs. Man wird einfach in ihren Bann gezogen. Einige Songs sind extrem Tiefgründig und voller Power das man Tracks wie "Elias" einfach nur lieben wird. Andere sind rockiger fast schon skaähnlich. Die Band hat es auch im Bereich Gitarrensoli sehr gut drauf, was man ja sonst nur von Rock bis Metal meist sagen kann. Also für jeden Fan einfach nur ein Muss. Wer noch nix von dieser Band gehört hat, sollte auf jeden Fall, falls er auf State Radio, Jack Johnson oder etwas ska steht, einfach mal reinhören.Warum da nur 4 Sterne?Weil ich das Produkt als ganzes Bewertet habe und das Bonusmaterial und das beigelegte Heft etwas dürftig ist.
