Is the opening half-moon shaped or round?

Will these work on Cadet wall haeters?

How long is the shaft on this control? I am looking for one that is an inch long and the knob itself has to be 1 1/4 inch diameter.

The shaft is described as half-moon but what is the diameter of this shaft? Is it 1/4"? Are there adjusting bushings included for other shaft sizes?
