Q: i want to replace my volume pot on my ymj DIMARIZO. Should I use a 500 K or 250 K. I want the easy fast pot.

500K volume pot has more output but it's has more treeble, 250K volume pot less output but a sweeter or darker sounding (you pick your sound). For the tone keep it in 250K, 500K may get it too bright.

Q: What is the degree of sweep and how does it compare to other Bourns models? I'm looking for a "short sweep" volume pot that has a 180* sweep or less.

The sweep on this is the same as the normal volume pots that you get stock. This is just faster and smother than normal ones.

Q: Learning cathedral by van halen, but the distance i have to turn my current knob takes too much time to sweep, will this go from "off" to loud quickly

Should work perfectly, the distance you have to turn the knob to go from on to off is very very short. Basically identical to the evh pot
