Dark yellow not for aging.
Color is an orange-brown not yellow. I sprayed a guitar body to add a little "aging" yellow. Turned pretty orange. Didnt work. This is sunbursting and a tobacco burst color tint only. For novice (me) I recommend a Vintage tinted amber from Reranch instead for yellowing. Sprayed good and coat was even, thumbs up for that.

I've used this for a guitar project and it has turned out nicely. I warm the lacquer by setting the can in hot water for about 10 minutes before using it. It always flows out smoothly. Apply the Star Amber in light coats until you get the shade you want. Practice on scrap until you get the hang of applying it. The picture shows results for a sunburst. From right to left it's bare maple, sanding sealer, Star Amber, Encore Brown.

Great color scheme for Acoustic guitar
Bought this to add color depth to a new acoustic guitar I'm building. Used it on mahogany neck and zebra-wood back and sides and have to say the amber color looks really great. Gives an old world vibe to the unusual wood tones. Follow the directions and keep the paint between 65-90 degrees, shake well and when using short bursts, it sprays very evenly and coated perfectly with-out runs or blotches. A definite color and product choice I'll be using on future builds...

Excellent Nitro Lacquer for Musical Instruments
So far, I have been really happy with Behlen Lacquer products... Especially the price and ease of use... The tinted lacquer is a bit Orange, so use cautiously!Great spray can lacquer for guitars!

Toner! Color, not sound.
I'm new to this stuff. Ignorant you might say. I was going to be using this for finishing a bass guitar neck that I ripped the frets out of and thought this would be the clear top coat. It isn't. The directions on the bottle say to use a different product for finishing clear and this to do sunburst effects. This one has amber color as stated but I didn't see it. I think it will be nice on a small table I have that needs a new top though....

Great toner, but not Amber
I am a professional luthier and I have been using canned lacquer for quick jobs for some time from Stewmac and other sources, and this is not really amber. It's nearly exactly the Sam color of gretsch orange. So if you want to create a good sunburst with this, you'll need to hold the can at least 2 feet away from the wood, or it'll be way to bright. If you want orange, it's a great product. Utherwise, buy stew macs amber. It's way closer and accurate, or go to rockler and buy the pure color with alcohol in 2 parts to achieve a real amber.

Gorgeous
Beautiful color easy to apply without drips or spray spots. Created wonderful color in combination with my "special blend" on a custom Stratocaster with a Warmoth hard maple body.
