Good update to a old favourite
I owned the original version of this torch for a few years until one too many mistaken trips through the washing machine finally killed it.This new version is a pleasing improvement. An upgraded case (anti roll collar, magnetic tail cap) and button operation are the most obvious additions. It still takes a single AA battery and fits easily in the pocket (loose or clipped), both of which make it eminently practical.Hopefully it will illuminate my dog walks for years to come. Well done Thrunite!

Small and powerful with a slight issue!
Brilliantly bright torch for the size and cost. I use it everyday at work (maintenance engineer) so it puts up with alot of abuse. The magnet cap comes in handy when both hands are required. My only issue, and the reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that the button to turn it on is mounted on the side Vs an end cap button. Numerous times I've pulled it out my pocket to find that it's been on for a while (gets quite warm). I use rechargable batteries so it's not too much of a problem but could be very frustrating if it's thrown in a bag as an emergency only to find it's been on the whole time and has no juice!

Perfect just as I would expect.
I have many thrunite torches, and I can't fault any of them, I love this little torch, fits nicely in my pocket, the belt clip allowes it to fit fully in the pocket, so the top doesn't poke out, nice, compact and bright with 14500 batteries, various brightness settings, perfect EDC torch.

Ideal small torch for general use
Have this stuck to the side of my fridge with magnet so easy to grab when needed, perfect for garden and home use. Worked great for camping to.Only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is the button to turn it on and off is small and smooth, not the easiest to find if your rushing or have gloves on.

PERFECT GIFT
It's small powerful light, even with AA battery. Godd beam range and smooth coverage. The build quality all around is pretty good.

Useless for pocket/EDC
Seemed like a nice torch at first but after 6 months of every day carry and very light usage I would not recommend it at all:- the clip went undone a dozen times; I'd luckily find it in my pocket but I eventually lost it last month- the on/off button is very difficult to find in the dark because its texture is smooth like the surrounding parts of the torch. I don't get how the product's designers/testers didn't notice this - using a textured surface would have solved the problem. Placing the clip at a given angle/position related to the button would help finding it but it was far from optimal.- the biggest issue is that I went through countless batteries despite having used the torch for a total of maybe 2 hours over 6 months because the torch would turn on by itself in my pocket. I carried the torch in a dedicated pocket without objects around and tried many clip positions (ie. with the torch button facing the outside of my pocket, or facing the inside, or at 90 deg, 45 deg, ...). I could never find a way to prevent the torch from turning on. The designers should have put the button in a recessed area, covered the button with a sliding part, or made it mechanically harder to operate, etc.tl;dr; - a torch targetting EDC (size, weight, ...) that is totally useless for EDC. Too bad because it's otherwise sturdy, brightness was great and there were plenty of operating modes (low/med/...).Update / Aug/19 : since my review I've slid a small piece of 3/4" watering hose with a hole drilled for the power button. I had *zero* accidental power-on since then even with other objects in my pocket while I probably would have to recharge the battery half a dozen time before. The mod also makes it dead easy/quick to find the power button even with gloves. The only drawback is that it's a bit ugly. I'll probably machine a piece of aluminium or hardwood to glue next to the power button if I have time.
