Good range and Good battery life
I got this set to add to my existing 2 walkie talkie set because I needed 4 total. This set cost about the same as my previous set of 2, and it's much bigger (See photo). My old set uses 2 AAA battery and this one use 3 AA battery, so obviously hold much longer charge. The biggest difference I noticed is the antenna. It's much longer than my previous set so it can reach longer distances. I tested both sets on the same channel and my old set start picking up noise/distortion way before the larger one. So I'm very happy with this purchase so far. I still haven't figure out how to do hands free mode though. And the other thing is I wish the scan button is not sharing the same button as the POWER button. This means when my kids turn on/off the device, they might accidentally end up in a different channel and can't no longer reach me.

Buy rechargeable batteries!!!!!
While this says it is rechargeable it is actually only rechargeable when you BUY rechargeable batteries to put in it. I feel like it is misleading.

Great for Kids
I bought these for my nephew's birthday and they worked great for the kids. They take 3 batteries each. Sound was great with the little kids.

Worked great for my purpose, but not long range
I got these walkie-talkies for a two-day-long, three-car-caravan road trip. Using the talkies to communicate between three different vehicles while driving down the road was much easier and safer than trying to call or text on phones. It worked excellently for that purpose, and I will always do this from now on when driving somewhere and more than one vehicle is in the group. Plus, it was fun! We felt like long-haul truckers!PRO- Long battery life. Uses AA batteries for power. Had them turned on all day long and used them often throughout the day. By the end of the two-day trip, battery bars had dropped one bar on everyone's talkies.- Easy to use. A quick look at the manual, set the channels on all talkies, and they held that channel even after a power-cycle. Press button to talk, release when done. My 4 year old figured it out really quickly.- Nice feature set. There are many more features of the talkies that we did not use, like the hands-free option and channel scanning. But I was impressed by the feature set on such a low-priced set of talkies.CON- Nowhere near the advertised "3 mile" range. My only con, really. And as I reflect on it, maybe the range could have been increased by playing with the channel and subchannel settings; but that then reduces my "easy to use" score. At any rate, while driving down interstate highways, if the distance between the cars began to approach a measly 1/2 mile, then the radio connection got very broken and it was nearly impossible to hear or understand each other.

Great for the price
We received these in the mail about an hour ago after I eagerly awaited their arrival. I really wasn't sure about how quality they would be for 4 units at this price. Frankly, it is about what I expected. They could be a bit better, but for being something that my kids are going to be playing with, I'll take the cheep quality at this point. The range is about what I expect with a UHF FRS radio. Outside they are just fine. Inside one building the reception goes way down really fast. I look forward to a point to test the reception at a further range (I'll try to update if I have something good to report).I had read a review that said the charger that appeared to be advertised wasn't included. I would have been okay if it hadn't been, but I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it and there was a charger included. The part that surprised me the most is the menu. There are more options than most will know what to do with. As a licensed amateur (KB3IXT) I went to work learning all of these. You can select High/Low power, but I'm really not sure why you'd select low. I do picture it will come in handy for saving the battery. You can also adjust the squelch, which is unusual for FRS radios. I haven't tested it yet, but there is also a Vox control on these radios. If you are looking for a durable, quality radio to last a long time, I'm not sure this would be the best investment. For the price, however, I think they are something good to have fun with.

Buyer beware.
These raidos work fine, and have the same features most do. The sound quality is ok, but not great, same goes for the mic.Buyer beware: These do not recharge as is. You need to supply batteries. Because my kids threw out the package, I don't know what type of batteries they will charge. Since there are 3 major chemistry types, and not all chargers will recharge some, I can't tell you what to get.

Great for the Price!
This product worked great for our Car Club when traveling. We all are in multiple vehicles so we could communicate easily with everyone at once. We are even talking about purchasing another pack of these because we didn't have enough for the amount of people that we have. Batteries stayed up great! I used regular batteries, but I am getting ready to invest in rechargeable.

not as advertised
range is good and easy to used. This was advertised as rechargable but were battery powered. also does not have a low power or auto shut off mode. This drains the batteries quickly.
