the first time ever, about a few weeks ago, I got this bottle of cod liver oil capsules that smelled rancid. Never has this happened from Carlsons brand. I had waited to open my bottle, until my last bottle was finished. I did not know they would refund my purchase, but they did, and I reordered a new bottle. It smelled fresh just like usual. I am writing this review because some companies will not refund a purchase if you wait too long, but I waited until I was finished with the first bottle. It might have been on my shelf about 2-3 weeks unopened too. glad to say that this company refunded this purchase even though I was a bit late to request it. This is the best product I have ever had. Be careful of other omega 3's capsules because they may contain shellfish or have particles of shellfish in them. This is the safest. I have to have the safest because I am allergic to shellfish. Even anchovies and sardines can be contaminated with shellfish. This isn't. This is the pure thing and is an excellent product

These Cod Liver oil capsules have a slightly lemon flavor when you put them in your mouth. I take cod liver capsules for immune health. AND there is no fish tasting belch with these capsules!

I can't usually take this cod liver oil in other forms and this form seems to agree with my very touchy digestive system from acid reflux

After reading the prior reviews regarding this product and doing a little research on the benefits of Cod Liver Oil, I purchased a bottle of this stuff. Let me tell you...... after only a couple of days use, I noticed a dramatic improvement in the overall appearance of my skin. I'm 53, and it made my skin more moisturized, it diminished the appearance of "liver spots" on the back of my hands, and my skin feels silky smooth with an overall "sheen" to it that wasn't there before. I also had a doctors appointment today, and my blood pressure was 120 over 80 on the nose!! I have only been taking this stuff for about 2 weeks now, but I can guarantee you that I will be taking this stuff for the rest of my life!! No fishy ANYTHING with this product, empty stomach or full. Do yourself a favor and buy a bottle of this NOW!! FANTASTIC PRODUCT!! #hooked4life!

My wife and I love this product. It is reasonably priced and it has what we wanted... simple and straight forward ingredients. There is no added crap here. The pills are a bit large, but we chew them and take the oil out and then spit the case in the trash. The flavor is lemony, and not bad at all. The recommended dose is 5 pills, but my wife and I take 4 each. We might switch to the actual solution next time since we bite them anyways. The flavor is not overwhelming like others I have tried. Great buy!

I purchase these on subscribe and save now. I purchased a bottle then for some reason tried another and truly realized these are better! I am now back and am reaping all the benefits of this wonderful product. The balance of Omegas is perfect and it's rare to find the correct balance. The pills are easy to take and don't have an aftertaste. I'm unsure what else to share other then that! I hope they help you!

I believe in the benefits of the product and have no reason to doubt the maker's intent or reliability. I just got my order today which is acceptable timing and the price is great, compared to some of the other natural products being marketed elsewhere.However, while the bottle says that you can chew these....don't. Just don't. It isn't a like a gel vitamin. One bite and the gel cap breaks open, flooding your mouth with what tastes like lemon pledge and the casing is not chewable - it feels like you are chewing on plastic. That was not unbearable but certainly not desirable.This morning was my first dose, but no fishy odor so far. I'll try to come back and post my impressions after a few days of taking it - NOT chewing it.Edited later: Not having any issues at all with taking the gel caps - no aftertaste at all, no indigestion, so I changed my review to a 4 star. If my cholesterol results improve, I'll change it to a five - I am hopeful! :)

I've started taking this again after years of missing it. My father was a chiropractor when my sister and I were little and he swore by vitamins in your diet and children's as well. Gives us what our bodies are missing. Daily, he'd feed us a spoon full of this stuff along with a few other vitamins and I have to say we were never sick. I have noticed since taking it my skin has been flawless. Even my husband's noticed how beautiful my skin has been looking. I've even noticed I skip almost all makeup now and have a glow about my skin. I'm now in my mid 30's. Been getting many compliments on how beautiful my skin looks and that's enough proof for me that this is working. My nails and hair have grown quicker too. Pry quit taking this for about ten years of my life and adding it back in again has made a world of a difference. I will continue to take this daily as long as I live. I will continue ordering this product and definitely recommend to anyone else in the market for cod liver oil.
