GNC N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine NAC 600mg, 60 Capsules, Provides Antioxidant Support

I've used this brand from GNC for a while. Two problems with NAC in general are the smell and it can be rough on the stomach. The enteric coating of this GNC brand protects against both of those. That's why I use this even though there are cheaper brands. Now the good news in purchasing from Amazon was that it cost me less than in a GNC store and I didn't have to become a member.

Received quickly. I ordered this on the advice of my kidney doctor before I had an arteriogram, he said this would protect my kidneys from the contrast dye used in the procedure. Since I have kidney disease, I took his advice and had no issue with the dye.

These are very large pills, but the worst part is that they smell terrible and the smell is quit strong. There is no way I could take these! I’ve never had a problem before with the smell of a pill bothering me. I thought maybe they were expired or something but they were still good and the bottle was well sealed.

After a year of sinus infections leading to overuse of nasal spray and all the misery that goes with feeling sick all the time I thought I would give this a try. Within 3 days of use the inflammation in my sinuses decreased about 90 percent and I am no longer using the nasal spray.

Before I found NAC I got bronchitis at least two times a year (so bad dr’s always assume pneumonia until x-rays came back) and always had to take two rounds of 2 different antibiotics to combat it, but since I started taking NAC every day I have not suffered near as bad. I got bronchitis once this past year and after only one round of antibiotics (partial) it was gone! Also, I’ve had to take otc and prescriptions for a few health issues and have had concerns of my organs (mostly liver) yet my blood work came back with great results!! I truly believe NAC is a Godsend!! One last thing... I’m not proud to admit this and I’d really love to quit, but I am a smoker and I use to have smokers cough... not anymore!!😆 regardless of that... I DO want to quit! I hope this review helps those wondering if this product will help because I look to reviews before I purchase products! I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because the NAC I was taking before was a capsule and easier to swallow, but these tablets are like horse pills. I’m still going to take them!!!

I have moderate kidney disease, I used it for 3 days, day before, day of and day after ct-scan with Isovue Iodide contrast. Drank about 80-90 oz of water for same 3 days plus a day extra. Tested Creatinine, GFR about a week before and after ct-scan, No change in blood tests. I am pleased.

Really didn’t notice any difference

NAC has many benefits. I took it mostly for liver protection when drinking alcohol. It's also beneficial for those with copd and asthma. No noticeable side effects. It's a good supplement for those with liver disease.
