how do I stabilize the legs? the back leg keeps slipping back.

This is not a very stable Eisel. I regret buying it not only do the legs do not stabilize nor does the front holder of canvas very poor unstable design. Please do not buy.

Can I use this to for oil painting on canvas 18x24?

I use it for oil painting on framed canvasses and have found it to be sturdy yet lightweight for transport.
