Decent for the price, it will fill my needs. I use pencil and there is shadowing. I see more with ballpoint, but I don't use pens. Someone said (a few years back, I think) that they used ink or gel. The paper must have been thicker back then. I tried a sharpie on the last page and it blotted through both sides immediately. Ruined the last page (my sacrifice). Ballpoint wasn't much better. Other than that, they are well made, soft and comfortable to hold and a nice large size, my favorite. I use the 7x9. My only peeve is from the sellers. I ordered 4 of these in different colors at different times and some had the sticker on the back cover (was impossible to remove without having my fingernail damage the padded cover) and some had the sticker on the protective sleeve. It leaves a lot of unsightly gouges trying to get it off. I am not sure if the PU leather could handle goo gone or hot water - I wasn't going to try to see if the color would fade or the material be damaged, so hope you get the packaged ones with the sticker on the sleeve. I hope the sellers take care of the sticker issue. So I'm giving 4 stars to 2 of my journals and 3 for the one with the %^$?&* sticker that wouldn't come off. (It was the green and brown ones that had the stickers on the book itself - BTW)

This could barely be considered "hardcover". There is a padded feeling to the front and back but the sturdiness of the cover does not fall under "hard" for me. Feels slightly more sturdy than the cardboard back of a spiral bound 80 page school subject notebook. Check that you know what "70 gram" thick paper is cause it's not as thick as I expected based on their details.For $10 I should not be surprised and it will perform it's function.

If you want good quality journals that last long-term, this seems to be the choice. It looks good but I do hope the paper can be thicker so the ink is not seen on the reversed side. I have a different journal with thick paper but the size is much smaller than this. Can't go wrong.

Bought this as a journal for my son as he loves to draw and write. He absolutely loves it. It's very sturdy and seems to be well made. The paper is thick and great for journaling and drawing. The binding seems to be strong and I have no reason to think it won't hold up great.

These are great journals! Exactly what I needed ... if it had been the size I ordered. Not the sellers fault as this cane from the fulfillment center- just wish I got the one I paid for. Still a great product and one I’ll continue to use.

I don’t like it. It’s tooo small.. and the papers feel cheap .. the lines are sooo light you can barely see them.. save your money .. you can find better at Walgreens for 10 dollars

I haven't made my first entry yet, but I have been journaling for yours and this journal has all the earmarks of a fine journal.

its a simple notebook, good quality, and because of the material its made of it feels great in your hand.
