Very Efficient!
I had been using a 3 quart pyrex covered bowl for popping, but wanted something with more capacity. While the capacity of this isn't that much more (more on that below) I find it pops very fast, and leaves very few unpopped kernals when finished. I only pop corn alone, no oil in it, and I use a good scale to measure about 2.5 ounces of corn. This takes about 3 - 3.5 minutes in my 1000 watt microwave. If you measure accurately and consistently and watch your time, and listen, it's easy to get great results. The one caveat I have is that you can't do more than about 3 ounces of corn, because the way the top works, it usually opens at a slant and shoots out popped corn when nearly full. 3 ounces is pushing it, but that's a pretty big bowl of (regular yellow) corn. The absolute best feature to this thing, unless I have just happened to luck into an especially great batch of Orville's, is the VERY small number of unpopped kernals at the end. With the pyrex bowl, I was getting dozens. With this, I get from 2 to 5, so account for getting more volume out of the same number of kernals you put in there. If you have a kitchen scale, start with 2.5 ounces and see where that gets you. You can probably go up to 3 or so. Listen for the popping to slow down - turn off the oven when they are down to one every 2 seconds and let it sit for about 10 seconds after you turn it off to get the last pops our of her. Then, if you remember the exact time and weight you put in, you're going to have an easy time in the future, though of course some variation will still occur.

Virgin smoke not. ( "XXL" size )
Being a popcorn devotee, I have always popped the "traditional" way. A bit of oil, a bit of salt, and whatever else my mood may dictate. Never a burnt popper, and never an un-popped kernel. Just excellent perfect popped corn. That prepackaged toxic "microwave popcorn" I find disgusting so I was quite a skeptic. However, to my pleasure, this silicone contraption actually produces edible popped corn. No... its more than edible, its great! Its a different taste, but its great. I still use just a tad of olive oil for taste and noticed that the olive oil does not lose subtleties as it often does with the higher temperatures of the traditional method. I can actually maintain the flavor of Extra Virgin! Delicious! Two minor annoyances are the tenacious heaping tablespoon of un-popped kernels, and the untouchable heat of the bowl, but its small price to pay considering the rewarding results. A suggestion to Lekue: please send me a prototype of a translucent version when you "see the light."

We love it!
The Lekue Popcorn Maker makes fantastic popcorn! I don't know if it's because we're using non-packaged organic popcorn or whether it's the Lekue. All we know is that it pops 98% of the kernels and they come out very fresh. We follow the instructions on the little pamphlet included with the Lekue, which has various recipes. One recipe we follow is the one where you add 1/2 C of popcorn along with 1 tsp. of salt and 1 tbsp of olive oil. This is for 2 people. It's healthier and cheaper than the packaged store-bought popcorn.

Super cool product!
My in-laws have a small version of this bowl and loved it. We really liked their popcorn and got the large bowl. We have microwave popcorn in the cabinet and it's going to expire I'm sure! :)Once you figure out the correct ingredient amounts and the length of time to cook, you will see that this is the BEST way to make popcorn! Please don't get frustrated if you burn it the first time or two. It just takes a little practice. For this large container, we use 1 pat of butter (yes, that's it!), 1 tsp salt, 1/3 cup of popcorn. Melt butter for 10 seconds, pour in salt and popcorn. Mix to coat the corn. Place lid and cook for 2 minutes (our microwave). It's oh so perfect!!

Awesome popcorn popper!
I eat a lot of popcorn, usually microwaved. Since they are saying the microwave bags are bad for you because of chemicals that are in them, I decided to go a healthier, safer route. I was very skeptical about this product when I saw it, but I love it! So easy to use, pops popcorn perfect every time. Great price. I bought the large one because I do eat a lot of popcorn, and the amount of popcorn that it makes is perfect. I have gloves that I handle it with when taking it out of the microwave, so that isn't a problem. It collapses and stores away so nice and compact.

Its the real deal popcorn maker.
I didn't know what to expect when buying this. Just wanted to make a low calorie snack with simple ingredients like kernels, butter and salt. After I used it i was blown away, its better than microwave popcorn in a bag. I like the fact that I can time it perfect so my popcorn comes out slightly well done. You just need to figure out cooking times at first since all microwaves are different strengths. Its also a breeze to clean by hand but I throw it in the dishwasher most the time.

Best Popcorn Ever!!!
This makes THE BEST popcorn ever!Place a half cup of popcorn kernels in bottom, add one to two tablespoons of butter/canola or butter/olive oil spread on top plus one teaspoon of salt. Put lid on.Microwave until the popping of kernels slows to about one to two per second. The outside of the container will be slightly warm but not dangerously so.Enjoy!

Works but lots of unopped kernals
I like that we could get rid of our air popper and that this collapses so it doesn't take up much room. But it's easy to burn the popcorn, it permeates the house / microwave with quite a smell, and there are a lot of unpopped kernels. Be careful of your microwave power. Instructions assume cooking on "high" in a relatively low powered microwave. We've had better results cooking on about 60 or 70% power. The popcorn (when not burned) does taste good. The "steam" cooking is much better than the air popper.
