Great for checking any 12v wires.

The media could not be loaded.  Works great led is to dim needed to change it to something brighter ibreplaced the led with a led dome light bulb not its ten times better i also connected an fuse puller along the line just for easssy access to pulling fuses out when blown. Inpove the fact the tip is spring loaded So i can just push down to test and push forward to test wires. Spring is strong. 5 starts if it didnt have such a weak red light i mean come on guys you get a sturdy hardware but the light sucks. Ill post a pick of my test light set up and a in action video video.. Remember the name trust the review

Used for auto test light

i have seen better quality test lights than this one but not for such low price. cable is really heavy duty. It's good on both 12 an 6 volts. alligator connector is also good, copper coated and heavy duty. it has a LED light that means it will work longer than usual light bulb, its not as bright as light bulb but its ok if you aren't on bright sun light.

Just so everyone is clear Yes, the bulbs are red and yes the current draw is low when used on a 12V circuit (around 30 milliamperes) but this is not an LED test light. The relatively low current is because this is designed to work on a 24V system as well. Having said that...This is a great tester! Very versatile (6V - 24V). High impedance lamp is safer for automotive computer circuitry. Red light is easier to see in direct sunlight. Cord stretches smoothly yet doesn't dangle near moving parts and springs back easily, even when cold. (Stretching beyond 8' takes a minute to spring back). Just a great overall general-purpose test light. [Clamp is crimped - I recommend soldering it] The package incl. 2 replacement lamps (red).

The "plastic" boot over the large copper clip is so hard that you can not open the clip with the boot on it.The connection of the cord to the clip is just crimped on and not soldered which can lead to contact problems.The LED light is dim on 12volt systems.This would be a good product with a few simple improvements.
