Great Value!
"You get what you pay for" isn't always true. A set of 72 colored pencils for less than $10 did not set me up with big expectations, but the reviews sounded good so I felt like they were worth a try. These FAR exceeded my expectations. I compared them to my Prismacolor Premiere pencils, and I was amazed. Are they as creamy soft and blendable as Prismacolor? NO, and I didn't expect them to be. But the colors are vibrant, they are easy to sharpen (a tricky process with Prismacolor) and they hold a point beautifully (also tricky with Prismacolor). Prismacolor, while intensely pigmented and wonderful to blend with, are not great for detail work, because their soft lead doesn't hold a point for long. Prismacolor recommends using their Verithin pencils for detail work, but those leads are SO hard that you have to dig into the paper to lay down a dark value. Also, the Verithin line only comes in 36 colors. That's where the Kalour pencils come to the rescue! They come in an immense range of colors, and the leads are firm enough for detail work, while still being blendable and vibrant without using a lot of pressure. I will be using these in place of the Verithin pencils from now on!

Nice set of colored pencils
Great deal on some awesome colored pencils. Mainly got this set. For using in my adult coloring books. As I found out to reduce some stress. Looking forward to using this set. Only thing I suggest. Is getting a better colored pencil tray.

Nice rich colors
I finally found a coloring pencil that actually leaves color on the page. Some of the colored pencils I've had in the past were very hard lead and did not leave much color on the paper. I love this set, but I do have to say that a few of the pencils were not sharpened very well. One of them had broken off the tip and I had to sharpen it myself. I guess it doesn't matter that much since they do sharpen nicely and keep on working. I prefer the sets with a smaller number of pencils/colors because I can't tell the difference between many of them on paper. I find that I just gravitate to the same ones over and over anyway. To me, less is more! I don't struggle to figure out which one I want to use.
