Nice lens !
Pros:1. Cheap than other lenses in same segment2. worth its price3. Nice image quality than other (I also tested sigma 70-300 of my friend and found this lens have good image quality)4. It will compress background so well, that you won't believe that its aperture is 5.6f. And it gives bloody awesome portraits5. Macro mode works well (180-300mm), not like actual micro lenses but better than normalCons:1. Too much chromatic aberration, which is disappointing.2. Long distance images have low contras issue but, it is expected when you are using telephoto lens3. You will surely miss "VR (Vibration reduction)" when shooting long distance object, But again you have to pay 20k more for that4. Lens find it difficult to "auto-focus" on small object when compared to 18-55 kit lens. Plus auto focusing on 300mm is too much battery consuming5. Some time it looks like clarity is compromised in low light. But I think I shouldn’t talk about clarity as I’m using D5100 :)But if you are tight on budget this is a best lens. Go with it you will never regret.Note: I have tried it with Nikon D5100 and Nikon D7000

Well have a soft corner for the pictures 2017 updated review
Have been using this lens for 4 5 months and let me say it is good not that impressive even at 70mm pictures are not sharp enough at f8 even @ 11f stops in daylight it manages to get pretty decent shots but u have to know where the lens is comfortable have shot a few shows well photos were berable but i wouldnt recommend anyone if they want stellar image quality with this one its a good Lerner's lens n a big L should be on the top of the box to prove all the things that just crawled your mind 😜😂😂14-mar-2017: have used this lens for quite a time and ive dropped this lens a couple of times and its still working like nothing has happened, give this lens enough light and it will shine keeo in mind* shutter speed should be at least as much as of the focal length because of the crop factor of dx format or multiply it by 1.5xfocal length * example at 70mm shutter should at least be at 1/100 at 300mm = shutter be at atleast 1/400 for portraits and youd get probably great results of course for wildlife and sports youd have to use higher but f5.6 is a plus point ➕ ☝️ if you are doing event or somethingTalking about aperture : it performs well at f5.6 and f8 beyond that it tends to loose sharpness untill you reach f16my conclusion i bought it for 7200 rs nikkor70-300af-s isnt worth it and though this lens makes noise or should i say screams id still prefer this over the silent nikkir 70-300 af-p lens as this lens at 300mm has its max aperture of f5.6 almost 2 stops more than the nikkor 70-300 af-p and this can come handy sometimes

This review might help wheather to buy or not?
-------------NIKON-------------I will list the advantages and the disadvantages of using this lens.Pros-1. Feels like a pro lens, its heavy and when extended to the fullest, it is very long.2. Picture quality is good enough.3. I don't really feel the lack of VR or VC while using the lens from 70-200 but using in 300 might be a little shaky if you are not steady or using a slow shutter speed.4. Good for beginners.5. Macro feature might come into handy at times.6. Fantastic build quality.Cons-1. Autofocus kind of suck at times but most of the time it works just fine.2. Zoom ring is a little hard.3. Shaky pictures at times even with steady hands.4. Definately not good for low light.5. Lacks silent autofoucs and if you are shooting video the video is goint to get really noisy due to the moving of the focus part.Conclusion-If you are not low on cash you might want to search for the nikon 70-300mm which has both VR and silent autofocus system which would be easier to use. When you start to spend time with the lens, you will realise that you would want to use manual focus instead of autofocus (as AF kind of sucks at times)which would improve you skills.Talking about the macro, it is not 1:1 macro so you probably wont be able to use it to take pictures of tiny insects because it is 1:2 magnification and by default this lens start macro from 180-300mm which is already far away. This lens can be used for portraits at times but pictures might be soft at f/5.6 and I would recommend to use it at f/8 or f/11 for sharper picture.Final decision-Buy this lens but in the end of the day you might be very happy or very upset if you set very high expectation as this lens costs around 10k and at this price 70-300 with AF is a lot they are offering.Go for it. Good luck.

Fine lense for the price. Ok to experiment with as a beginner.
For the price its an ok lense.. took about 2 hrs to undertand the macro mode properly.1:2 macro isnt that great but will do for beginner level to lern and experiment.Without tripod very difficult to get proper focus while in zoom n macro mode.At 300 mm the images are soft. For now its fine to experiment with.

A Perfect Telephoto Lens
I already had Nikon 18-55mm as Kit lens and Nikon 35mm Prime. Now I want more experiments and improve photography skills. After long search of a great budget telephoto lens, I stopped at Tamron AF 70-300mm. This is beast. It gives my Nikon D3200, a professional look. ;) I'm sharing a Moon photo clicked on 300mm.Pros:1. Very Sharp2. Budget3. Build Quality4. 62mm Diameter (Looks Cool)Cons:1. Noisy AF Motor (But at this price, does not matter)2. Heavy

Can take long distance image very well
The overall camera lens is very good and can effortlessly take long distance photos. However, the image clarity is a little blurry at such long range (Around 1 KM + distance). This lens perfectly fits my Nikon D3500 camera. The lens has both MF & AF (Manual/auto focus) with, normal/macro options. Overall, I liked it. With max. zoom, the lens is around 8-10 inches (This is a little heavy after some long usage), otherwise for short term usage, the lens is not very heavy. At shorter distance (less than 50 metres), the lens is very good and image clarity is very good. Overall, no bad experience and I liked it.
