Levy's Leathers MM8-BRN J.K. Gully Hook, Brown

I have an acoustic guitar I like to walk around the house playing which is hard to do with a standard guitar strap tied to the guitar neck. When I came across Levy’s Gully Hook I decided to purchase it and it has been an excellent choice. I replaced the string at the end of my guitar strap with the Gully Hook and it easily attached to the guitar. I now have full range on the fret board without the strap getting in the way whether I am doing scales or cords. Very cool. The Levy Gully Hook is a great accessory to get the strap off the guitar neck without drilling a hole into the guitar to attach another strap button. I am grateful I didn’t have to purchase a new strap to go along with the Gully Hook too. I just adjusted my strap to the new position it was hooked to on the guitar and haven’t looked back.If you are like me and don’t like having a guitar strap attached to the end of the neck of your acoustic guitar, then I recommend giving the Levy Gully Hook a try.

How someone didn't think about this sooner is just amazing to me. For the longest time I dreaded using my Taylor 812C live on stage because I found myself always struggling to keep my strap from sliding off my shoulder when I hooked it up in the usual way. I was also always worried that I didn't tie the knot well enough and that my guitar would crash to the floor. After a recent gig I decided enough was enough and I did some extensive research on the internet and I found this baby. Not only is it easy to use it works like a charm! I no longer have these issues and I'm now looking forward to the next acoustic gig when it comes around. There is no fear of damage to my guitar as the hook is designed to go easy on wooden surfaces and I don't have to drill to move the strap position anymore!Excellent product and highly recommended!

I recently purchased a Levy's MMS1 Leather guitar strap from Amazon for my new Martin D-28. I first tried it tied to the head stock but that put too much strap in front of the shoulder and interfered when playing chords around the first fret. I saw in other reviews that this was recommended for people that didn't want to mutilate their fine instruments with a drill. It is quite a simple little thing but does the job very well. Now the strap is centered over my shoulder and I have unencumbered access to the top of the neck. Looks nice with my strap also. Too soon to tell how well it will hold up over time.

The strap button was crooked (installed by some kid at a music store) on my beloved 1966 Gallagher G50. Made the stability of straps a bit too iffy for me. This Gully strap was the perfect solution. Works like straps for classical guitars, just not as obtrusive. It goes beside the fretboard and under the neck, held by a flat plastic hook at the sound hole. Has caused no damage to the guitar, and holds guitar while I turn pages or pick up a capo or have a sip!

It works perfectly hence the 5 star rating. I would recommend this to a friend. I have a vintage Martin that I didn't want to drill a whole into for a strap button in the neck by the body...I had one of the leather buttons that goes under the strings by the nut but didn't dig the strap going up there, got in the way of E chords etc.

This is a slick alternative to adding a strap button to your acoustic. Quick to hook up, and remarkably stable.
