OK, I'll try this again. Amazon would not post my last review attempt. The Nose Thorn was well made of durable plastic. The "wing nut" secured the devise to the nose. I had "marginal" success, however, I will take some of the blame for not putting the Nose Thorn on properly or tight enough. However, I had one calf that had the Nose Thorn securely on who would turned her head to the side to nurse. Very smart calf.

One calf was able to dislodge the piece, but it stayed in Long enough to serve it's purpose. The other one had the wing nut fall out but stayed in place until we removed it. Worked well.

This product is completely useless.
This calf weaner didn't work at all. Even with the wing nut tightened all the way, our calf was able to nurse.We needed it to keep the calf from nursing long enough for the cow to heal. Since it didn't work, we had to lock him up for the whole week. It was crazy loud!!!This product is completely useless.
