Q: What's the seat depth of the chair?

I measured about 20", and the width is about 19.7".

Q: How to insert the casters? They don't seem to screw in and I've tried pushing them on the base but they don't stay. Is there a trick to it?

They do push in, but it takes a little force. Make sure that you are pushing them straight down and not at an angle.

Q: Can this be assembled without the castors?

You can assemble it without. Not sure how it would function. But they are not required
